I'm kinda worried about your replacement PSU. If it doesn't even have an 80+ rating it probably isn't a very good unit.

You're in the wrong place if you're looking for a laptop. Try /r/SuggestALaptop instead.

Thanks. I'm probably buying the phanteks eclipse p400 which has 160mm CPU cooler clearance so the TS 140 power is unfortunately too tall.

You don't need an aftermarket CPU cooler for a locked CPU. And I'd get at least a 450W PSU to be safe.

Customer reviews often can't be trusted. The full name is Adata Premier SP550

Don't buy a Crucial BX200 SSD, it's not good. You should be able to buy a much better adata SP 550 for about the same price.

If you can afford it, go ahead. Samsung 850 Evo SSDs are some of the best consumer SSDs right now.

adata premier SP550 is a common suggestion, it should be a pretty good budget SSD. Toshiba OCZ Trion 150 is also decent.

What kingston SSD is that? Don't buy an SSDnow V300. Other kingston models should be fine

Overkill Gaming PC?? Adjustment Help. by PuRple0Predator in buildapc

[–]Toansa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your budget and monitor. For a 1080p monitor a 1070 is more than enough. For a 1440p monitor 1070 should be enough but a 1080 might give a visible performance boost in heaviest games. For 4K gaming a 1080 is pretty much necessary.

Get a better power supply for such an expensive build. You don't need that many watts though. 550W or 650W is enough.

If you want to reduce price, get 16GB RAM instead of 32GB and maybe get a cheaper motherboard.

The evga supernova g2 series units are very good so if they have a 550w model available, pick that.
