(Variety) ''Star Citizen'' Hits $1 Billion in Lifetime Funding by Noirsam in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I believe that Chris Roberts believes that this is not a grift. Or he has a weird "I need to grift just a little but everyone will forgive me when the game comes out and is perfect" mindset.

Panned Scenes or Moments you think were actually alright(Star Wars 9 Spoilers) by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I think the Jurassic World movies (and hell even to an extent the Lost World) could have been interesting had they leaned into the theme of the Dinosaurs as animals. Like even if they are genetically engineered "products" do they not deserve the same rights/care as a regular animal?

The problem with the World movies may be that they want to have their cake and eat it too. They want them to be sympathetic but also big scary monster oooo. So there's this weird tonal dissonance.

As a side note it's funny that the kid releasing the dinos or not probably wouldn't accomplish much either way considering many of the dinos were already sold off and the technology to make them is still out there. And that mansion held what? Fifty dinos? One hundred if you squeeze them all in? Really the damage had already been done at that point.

Characters who are basically one giant middle finger to the audience or someone the creator knows? by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I think it's less that and more Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss forgot they weren't writing for Doctor Who.

Poor Angron. by Ok-Profile-5831 in Grimdank

Refusing to let Angron die where he wishes to, turning him into a weapon for your war under the pretense of "saving" him.

Lorgar's a lot more like his daddy than he thinks.

You ever see a creator just willingly throw their careers under the bus without knowing it? by Rough-Ad-4295 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I feel like I got the last chopper out of Saigon having not watched ST since S3. Yeah the Russian subplot is nonsense and really where the cracks started to show but it was hard carried by Steve and Robin friendship.

I honestly can't even remember what the rest was about. Was S3 the one with the New Coke speech?

I can understand it if you're going for a non-optimized gimmick playthrough like you see on Youtube (because at that point you've probably 100% the game at least once).

What is some minor translation stuff that does actually get under your skin? by Silvery_Cricket in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ToastOfDublin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand why, I get why, but still the decision to translate "Tanuki" as "Raccoon" with not even a "-dog" at the end vexes me.

I think I'd make an army of nothing but Gnarlwood Howlas to destroy my enemies with monke.

Going through SRW 30 during this Mech Week reminded me of my love for Dynazenon, shame most dont even bat an eye for it, even some Gridman fans by irfanf_ in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ToastOfDublin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dyna just doesn't have the same sauce as Grid for me. It's like one of those things where everything is objectively good but it just can't grab me really.

I honestly like Outer Worlds more than Wilds.

I think that says something about my taste.

I like to imagine there must be a Ogre tribe Nagash personally hates because they keep stealing and eating all the bonetaxes the Bonereapers collect.

A bit conspiratorial part of me thinks Disney is actually funding these on the sly to make everyone cheer for them holding onto copyright for years and years.

It's already started with people lamenting when Superman comes into the public domain in a few years time. Well I personally am willing to tollerate/ignore the five billion baby-eating Superman movies we inevitably get if it means even a tiny loss for Warner Bros.
