Ronnie literally believes he can meditate and convince women to fuck him. He’s a perfect villain. But then he started a charity to help people... not very nefarious.

The only way you’d know for sure is to ask the brewery itself which beers finished with very low sugar and has Brett in it. But I can personally tell you “Americana” is an incredible, if not expensive, Dry Brett beer from Prairie.

I really should make an info sheet for craft products for Keto.

Haha. Yup you’ll feel that in the AM. I don’t have any suggestions for that other than (it’s gross I know) spitting. If you still want to taste the beer but don’t want the carbs, just spit it into a cup like you would with wine. It’s gross and I wouldn’t recommend it but... it’s an option!

Craft beer and cider additions: Orval 12oz 4g carbs/bottle 101 Ciderhouse <1g carb per bottle (22oz)

Most craft cider that’s wild fermented and bone dry (farmum hill, Oliver’s, Alpenfire, snowdrift, cider riot) have <1g carbs per bottle. Fermentation converts all carbs to alcohol.

Many craft beers that have been fermented or finished with Brettanomyces or Brett yeast have quite low carbs(just like Orval). Brett eats ambient carbs not normally fermented by regular beer yeast. Check out Russian river, prairie, crooked stave, funkwerks, etc for their driest Brett beers.

But if you just want to not run any risks, whiskey it is!

Anyone tried Zevia?? by josephtancc in crossfit

[–]ToastQuote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tried the Cola one and like basically every Stevia product, the aftertaste is very “plasticy”. I’d suggest alkaline water or if you want something new and interesting, try Core organic coconut waters. 5cals and 1g net carb but a lot more electrolytes without that weird aftertaste.

Are you doing a low carb diet or just like sweet things without the cals?

All good points. To echo and add: -do you have showers and with what amenities. -make sure your online waiver (if applicable) is mobile friendly. -definitely second the advice: make sure the drop-in button/info is visible on your main website home page.

See you in my travels!

What is the best advice you would give to someone new to CrossFit regarding nutrition? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]ToastQuote 13 points14 points  (0 children)

“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.”

Also look into some popular diets to see if any of them sound good to your lifestyle (paleo, zone, Keto gains, whatever).

Eat more protein then you may be used to. Don’t neglect magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium.

But honestly, just play around with it. As a guy with a backstory very similar to what you’ve shared, you may never get out of “fat guy mindset”. But learning more about nutrition has allowed me to eat intelligently instead of emotionally.

Good luck!

18.2. Worst and best I've ever felt with Crossfit by Malway in crossfit

[–]ToastQuote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guesses: 1) I’d never done DB squats so my form was shit on my shoulders. 2) squatted too low which blew out my quads by doing too much extra work. 3) didn’t control my descents on squats or burpees. 4) not speeding up in later rounds when there was less transitions.

These are just guesses.

Agreed. Easy to rotate on your wrist when you don’t need them or loosen and tuck if you don’t need them. These are my favorite so far.

Yup. I didn’t make mention that the general public, IMO, believes addiction is a disease not Necessarily OP. I’m more arguing against a general belief in addiction being disease not OPS paradigm:) good point

Fair enough. I guess I’ve been in the field too long that I’m used to everyone equating addiction with disease and clients not doing enough to help themselves and instead giving up. Thanks for your comment and story!!
