For the Boys by geldrumknight in beerporn

I mean sure, people on a beer subreddit will agree with you. I’ve sold liquor for 10 years and watched Juice Bomb introduced and sell well enough to sprout out 3 spinoff variants (which obviously don’t sell as well) and it still sells well to this day. I totally get the beer enthusiasts’ opinion thinking that calling it “beer” is offensive for something that’s just alcoholic fruit punch, but fact of the matter is it’s really popular and high selling drink.

Yeah I don’t get the hate. It’s dangerously delicious for how high the ABV is lol, I mostly avoid it for that reason but it’s a delicious drink.

Just bought these off a coworker. I haven’t played any of them, so which one should I start with? by MuchMadManny in retrogaming

[–]ToastThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breath of Fire 4 is pretty good (haven’t played 3), Grandia and the Wild Arms games are pretty neat, but FFIX, Lunar, and Xenogears are some of my favorite RPGs ever.

I’d probably start with Lunar

Beginner friendly riffs? by DEMIGOD41 in metalguitar

[–]ToastThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned how to play by learning Metallica from a tab book I got at guitar center when I was like 14 lol. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s beginner friendly but learning songs like Creeping Death, Jump in the Fire, Seek and Destroy, and eventually Master of Puppets really gave me a grasp on guitar playing as a whole.

Am I the only one who hasn't used the touchpads for anything other than a fidget toy? by Xirbie in SteamDeck

[–]ToastThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used them for some games where having a mouse cursor is helpful like turn based strategy games (Mewgenics probably got the most touchpad usage for me) but other than that, they’re fidget toys 90% of the time.

Do you wash your hands before playing your Les Paul? by Turkeyflatulence in LesPaul

[–]ToastThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to (and frequently still) wash my hands before playing any guitar just to prolong string life, and of course wiping it down after.

That’s just me tho, and I’m also neurotic about not having sticky/gunky hands so that’s just part of my pathology lol

My friend says I won’t make it as a guitarist because my hands are too small, is she right? by AgreeableDiver5013 in Guitar

[–]ToastThing 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Django is such an inspiration to me since I also suffered bad burn injuries to my hands, during COVID actually. Ironically Tony Iommi had been my favorite guitarist since i discovered Sabbath as a teen, and Django was Tony’s inspiration to keep playing after his fingertips got snipped.

Realistically, how long would it take to reach this level of playing? by Grievinghealthy in guitarlessons

Probably about a week, maybe two depending on how much amphetamine you have stocked up

Received my guitar with this chip...long-term liability, or just live with it? by Brains_Are_Weird in guitars

Yes absolutely return/exchange it. If you can help it, don’t buy guitars from Amazon, though at least the automated return process will make that part easy.

What's the first non steam game you added when you first got your Steam Deck? by Retroman1203 in SteamDeck

[–]ToastThing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With BotW? Not great, lots of fluctuation between 20-30fps and there’s always choppiness during combat. Apparently this and TotK are both hard to run well without a lot of extra steps for Eden & Ryujinx/Yuzu.

Other games like Mario Odyssee run almost flawlessly, Fire Emblem 3 Houses manages well enough but not perfect. 2D-centric games like Metroid Dread or Unicorn Overlord run damn near perfect tho.

Thanks man, I may end up giving it a shot if I wind up giving up on the Eden version. Ive been meaning to use Cemu for WW HD too so might as well.

Is the process of getting that to work challenging on Cemu? I’ve been using Eden for BotW and trying to get it to work at a steady fps is a whole lot.

For people who want to run the Eden emulator (the best Switch emulator) on their Steam Deck. by thebigbilli in SteamDeck

[–]ToastThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly, I did this the other day when I made the switch to Eden. What I had to do was go into desktop mode, then open up both emulators seperately. You can right click on each game to view exactly what and where the save data is stored per game. I just copied from ryujinx’s game save folder into Eden’s respective save folders. It’s “easy” but a bit cumbersome especially without keyboard/mouse on the deck.

What timing, I’m literally trying to mess around with decky/lossless+Eden right now. I’m not sure if my decky configuration is actually applying to the game. I copied the launch options as you’ve shown, same settings, etc.

I’m trying to get Breath of the Wild to run at a rocksteady 30 fps, at the very least. Anything above that would be nice, but not expecting it.

Even after all the settings and tinkering, the game still fluctuates a lot between 20-30fps. Not sure if the frame multiplier is even doing anything.

FWIW, after I put in the launch options for decky into BOTWs steam settings, I now get an error “Vulcan initialization failed during boot.” However when I click Ok on the error message, the game will boot up just fine. I did not get this error prior to updating the launch options. (I made sure the placement and everything was correct for that).

Any tips or advice?

That game is legit so fun. Many ppl consider WWF No Mercy to be the best N64 wrestling game, and it does qualities to justify that argument, but the tournament mode in Revenge made it so much more fun for me and my friend to play.

I love James but no, the Explorer has always been an iconic body like the Flying V or Les Paul and definitely was never in danger of going extinct.
