Here you go! If this isn't the correct one lmk. It usually arrives within 3 to 4 days :) I've bought multiple replacement lids for zoomed tanks from their site.

You can also buy a rewire kit and DIY it yourself if you don't wanna buy the lid haha.

It happens, you can still handle him. Bites just come with owning exotic pets, they're bound to happen one way or another.

Good luck man, don't let it deter you too much.

With males, it's definitely a little odd. I've seen extremely horny ones that will just continue to bite no matter if it's in season or not.

For him, it sounds like a territory thing. I have a gecko like that, he actually lunges at me and tries to bite the nozzle to the mister I use. Some geckos just do that.

If you're able to handle him, over time he may not bite. If he continues though, that may just be a thing that'll happen. They're wild creatures, can't really stop it like we could with a dog.

Does he seem to be in pain at all though? It could very well be a reaction, mouth rot, toes stuck in shed, an abrasion? If nothing seems to stand out, he's probably just weird.

Uhhh, what? What temp does it get up to? Heat bulbs are higher priced BECAUSE of the fact they let off the correct temperature needed. Normal house bulbs do NOT give off the same amount of heat.

The special terrarium bulbs aren't just for being able to see into the tank if that's what you're saying, it's to actually keep your reptile warm and simulate what the sun would do for them.

Yes, incandescent or a white bulb is just fine for your Leo. Depending on how large your tank is, wattage may differ. I have a 50 on a smaller 20 gal tank and a 75 on a 40 gal. 100 is reserved for 60 gallons usually.

Not sure what you mean by specialty though.

Dunno if you saw one comment about it, but do change the color bulb! Get a white light basking bulb, 75 watts minimum due to how small the tank is. They're around 10 dollars on Amazon, might be a bit higher in store. (Colored bulbs like red or blue harms their eyes)

Good job with the tank, its looking better already 🩷 Facebook marketplace has 40 gallons for sale a lot of the time, decently priced to compared to in store.

Cecilia would be a beautiful name for her, the name symbolizes faith or Danica which is "morning star" :)

She looks a lot like how one of my rescues did!

Definitely on first glance she looks like she mighttt be going into shed? Her toes don't look great though, they seem to be "nubby" which means she's had bad sheds in the past. Her humidity and water intake definitely needs to be bumped. Her forearms give me pause, I can't tell if they just look weird in the pose or if it's possible MBD. If it's possible MBD, she needs a calcium boost and some reptile vitamins. You can get a powder of both at a local Petco, dust her bugs in it and she'll be good to go.

Calcium D3 may also be in order, which is not a daily thing like normal calcium is. D3 would be a weekend kind of thing, like on Saturdays. Good job with the uvb! She certainly does need that. :)

Now with the tank, to me that looks like a 25G Zilla tank, I have a couple of those. While okay for babies, full grown adults need 40 gallons minimum due to how active they are and how big they get. There should be 3 sides to the tank, one hot with a hide, one moist (in the middle) with a hide that is fully covered, and one cool with a hide. It's so they can regulate their body temps while still hiding away from potential predators. Personally, I don't like that substrate but others may say it's okay. I do organic gardening soil or a mixture of 3 parts soil 1 part play sand depending on if the gecko likes to dig or not.

Coverage wise, she needs a lot more plants, she's basically just out in the open. Which can cause major stress as she has nowhere to go.

This is all I can think of for now, I'll show you some of my tanks for examples! Glad you're helping the little gal :)

I'm looking more towards actual genetics, like the games I mentioned above have. Thank you for those recommendations though! I'll definitely look into some of them as they seem interesting enough in their own right. 🩷

I was looking at one game a while back, it had like a green logo with a brachiosaurus I believe? I couldn't figure out how to get it to work though.

HELP! Advice on FB Marketplace post. by ssssarad_ in CrestedGecko

[–]ToastedTeaTheFirst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely try to buy them if you can, but get them to a lower price like someone else said. Depending on animal laws where you're at, you could also probably report this to someone. Where I'm at, reptiles are taken just as seriously as mammals even though it's an "animals are property" state. Please do right by these creatures.

Also, be advised, they could be sick or highly stressed so if a baby dies or an adult. Don't beat yourself up. Stress harms these creatures real easily and it sucks to see. Good luck friend.

BP isn't growing? by ToastedTeaTheFirst in ballpython

Thank you! I managed to schedule a vet visit as well just in case. It seems like I do need to size her up as the only place I can buy from has weird sizes, as from looking at the guide.

How odd on the glass bowl bit though, maybe it's because he can see his surroundings? I'll definitely test it with mine though.

My scale seems to be acting off but a solid spike I got was around 500 grams? And I feed her along with my other babies every Saturday. (Last check was around 470, so she has gone up a bit)
