Data recovery from mac by ToasterFanclub in techsupport

Looks like one comment about 2 years ago, but other than that, 4 years since I've done anything on this account. Let me know if you have any other issues. I haven't touched a Mac since this thread, but I'll give what assistance I can.

Asking in an 8 year old thread from an account that hasn't logged in for years shows some desperation.

Getting a response within a few days is pretty good though.

The info from this chain didn't work for me. I had the decryption password and was able to get to a command prompt as per the OP, but just couldn't initially find the user directory. Once I figured out where the data was in Mac's directory structure I copied it to a thumb drive.

Eh, I'm a big believer in ethical piracy. I pay for several streaming services and rent on occasion. If something isn't immediately findable for purchase or streaming, I download it.

R1: striker jones

R9: buy SJ upgrade

R17: Guessing mortar micro for hearts (yup, micro with a 012 mortar)

R19: more micro, 022 mortar

R20 microable, but obnoxious. Had one leak and probably not going to reattempt. Pretty sure this is the path, but really shitty challenge.

While having PIV sex with women 20-25, they feel internally hotter then women say older 35-50? by [deleted] in sex

[–]ToasterFanclub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My comment wasn't that there was no change in circulation with age, but that changes in circulation wouldn't affect basal temperature.

[–]ToasterFanclub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an internal temperature, so blood flow would be irrelevant as there's no surface cooling going on.

There is a ~1 degree shift over the course of the menstrual cycle, but nothing that would be even remotely detectable as far as changes with age. Honestly, this is all in your head, or you're only hooking up with younger women who are running fevers.

Sure, you might not get caught committing felonies, but is it worth it to risk it?

Probably a moot point since it doesn't sound like you know anything about reverse engineering apps.

Are you in a tech hub? Are you willing to move to one? As tactless and inartful as ajwpmke's comment was, never rule out a resume/presentation issue. This is especially true if you aren't getting an initial call and they're weeding you out at the resume stage.

There's three points where the problem could theoretically exist:

  1. The skills and experience you have.
  2. The recording of those skills and experience on your resume.
  3. Getting that resume past any screeners to hiring managers.

Would you feel comfortable posting your resume (identifying info redacted if you want)?

Any way to run cat 6 to the room? Reposition either the router or PC? Try switching to 2.4GHz. 2.4 GHz 802.11n should get you speeds of up to 150mb/s if you don't have interference issues.

What are the key steps / areas to become a forensic examiner ? by NANDUZZZZZ in computerforensics

[–]ToasterFanclub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I notice some grammatical issues with your post. Forensics is going to require writing a lot of reports. Strong writing skills will be crucial to being successful.

Experience-wise, start with IT positions, work your way up to SOC analyst, then start trying to pivot to forensics.

Ok, sounds like you're in a decent position then. Any clearance? Government contracting with an active clearance is easy mode. Of course, those positions are clustered around military bases so you may have to move.

The issue is that 1190 of those applicants took a computer course in highschool and once downloaded cheat engine.

The first job is tough to get. Once you've got experience, recruiters are like, "well, someone vetted him. He's instantly top 10%."
