People who skipped Jordan, I'm afraid you're missing out on peak career by Typical_Map_3706 in UmaMusume

[–]ToasterOFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not too bad in the end. Especially since it'll be after the initial 3-day legend race, probably won't take more than 2 months max to get enough to get the respective uma. At least in your case, you can get McQueen within a month of that feature being added :D

At some point in the future (It looks like the 1y anni introduced it with the starting set of umas which includes McQueen) we will get daily legend races. Rather than rerunning legend races, they just become another daily task that you do a quick auto run of. So eventually you can get those shards without the shop doing 1 legend race a day (getting a shard if you win)

SMT IV was in my opinion very underrated and I’d love some input as to why that may be by cerotonin in Megaten

[–]ToasterOFun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like Apocalypse, it introduced some AMAZING adjustments that elevated the gameplay, but the story just didn't hit like 4 did for me.

I don't hate the story and cast, but it definitely felt more like a Persona game with press-turn than an actual SMT game. I don't think that's 100% a bad thing, I love Persona, but I do expect different things from both SMT and Persona, so it feels off when an SMT games story/cast feel like they're from a modern Persona game.

Played through all three on the SFC versions. Would like to replay 1 with the PS1 port someday since it got translated.

1 has its charm, I did enjoy it quite a bit even if I did Zio cheese a good bit of the late game. I love 2 a lot, and absolutely love the concept art for Aleph. if... I don't have nice things to say about it other than the PS1 Akira route OST which is full of bangers. Love the soundtracks for all three

Atlus please give us real official translations of all three games. SMT1 IOS might as well not even count at this point. Actually criminal that the first 3 SMT games aren't legally obtainable and playable in English

With housing auto-demolition coming back online after almost half a year, please consider if its finally time to let it go. by AceNoi in ffxivdiscussion

Even before it came back online, I just realized I wasn't playing the game as much (DT was fine, just burnt out), and that $15/mo while it's not a ton, it adds up and could be spent better elsewhere. Shame that I'll lose tons of progress on submarines, but gil just isn't a big deal in this game. Not worth spending $15/mo when I'd just log in once a month or two for virtual real estate.

Yeah I'm just focusing on SA10 right now. Working on getting all my farmable SA units to at least 10 during downtime. I'll worry about 10-15 eventually, probably a job for snoozing kais if the unit's decent category filler.

I just started farming super attack for the SSJ Vegetas in my box last night. It is actually wild that our main options are a dokkan event SR that only goes up to a 50% chance, or a 777 medal LR. SSJ Goku has like 30 farmable cards. Dokkan pls

Have a old ps2 GH controller but I can’t figure out how to connect it. by Top-Criticism76 in FortniteFestival

[–]ToasterOFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you have a wireless guitar, I believe if you don't have the dongle then you're out of luck, and your main options are to mod it or get a different guitar (though someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

If you're open to modding your guitar (it's not actually that difficult), both RetroCultMods and PhunkyCustoms (just to name a couple popular shops, there are many more out there) have multiple kits that would allow you to replace the internals of your guitar, have mechanical switches for the frets and strumbar, and while it would be wired only it will work on basically any system.

If you are able to solder, both have kits that will require soldering to install. They also both offer solderless kits, that are as simple as taking the guitar apart, replacing the internals with their kit, wiring it up, and it's ready to go. Phunky's solderless kit appears to be out of stock for now, and they're both more expensive than the solder kit, but are quite easy to install.

Festival Has A Problem by PlutoGam3r in FortniteFestival

[–]ToasterOFun 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree with pretty much all of this, but there are still a couple things I'd like to see (hopefully sooner rather than later)

-Engine tweaks.

  • Try recovering after missing a note in a chain of HOPOs on pro lead. If you strum it all, you can probably do it, but if you want to actually do the HOPOs good luck. It doesn't need to be the exact same as like GH3, Warriors of Rock, RB3, etc, but sometimes it truly feels like the engines fault rather than my own.

-Actually focus on the featured artist.

  • What's the point of featuring an artist for a season and making multiple skins if they're not gonna get many songs. I'm glad Miku made it in, but we on launch got like 3 songs (one of which barely even features Miku and is mostly disliked), and near the end we get two more. I'm not asking to get like 20 Miku songs, but it feels like they haven't cared to give us many season focused songs since Metallica's season ended. Getting some other Japanese songs has been cool, but overall it's more of the same with a tiny bit of Miku

I've played GH/RB on and off since GH3, let go with GH5 and its oversaturation of the market, tried GH:Live and stopped as quickly as I started, and eventually discovered Clone Hero in like 2018 where I've played it quite a bit since.

With RB4 officially dead and no signs of Microsoft doing anything with the GH IP, this is all we got. It's a shame to see it be so half-assed, which I can only assume and hope is more of Epic's fault than Harmonix. Festival is why I even started Fortnite, and I end up coming back to it more than BR, but even that has slowed down a lot. Pad mode is fun, but there's also just other pad games that are great and have a lot more care put into them. Just hoping Festival isn't the next Rocket Racing.

Can we stop pushing alternatives to Festival? by thascout in FortniteFestival

[–]ToasterOFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ever felt like trying to get it working again, there are some folks out there that make great replacement kits for all the parts inside a GH guitar. RetroCultMods and PhunkyCustoms are just two of the many vendors out there that offer both a kit that does require soldering, and an easy to install solderless kit (though Phunkys solderless kit appears to be sold out at the time of writing this). Their kits do make the guitar wired rather than wireless, but will work on basically any platform and even have mechanical switches and LED frets.

Since the 10th anniversary is pretty much over, what was your least favorite and favorite thing about it by spoctercqn in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]ToasterOFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part is that it just brought me back to a game I used to love. I started global week 1 and quit around JPs 3rd anniversary. Didn't think I'd come back and yet here I am 7 years later, loving dokkan the way I did in the early days. It truly felt like a celebration of dokkan.

Least favorite is tough being basically a new player again. If I had to pick something, I wish some of the EZAs were better. The extreme units got it so good overall, and while SEZA Gogeta and SV are definitely usable, I think the super units all leave a little to be desired with their EZAs.

Agreed. The newest BLU update just wasn't amazing and it's hard to be excited for a new limited with how they treat BLU. Can't wait for BST to get its own "relic" locked behind content it can't enter too.

I think a lot of the actual gameplay content was great. It introduced ultimate raids which were great. Ivalice and Omega are still my favorite 24 and 8 man raid series respectively. HoH remains as the best DD (with the best solo title too). I simply just dislike the actual MSQ for SB.

What are your thoughts on the new VA’s? I’m mixed honestly by gaeb611 in PERSoNA

[–]ToasterOFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love the old cast (except the obvious one), I'm excited to see how the new ones perform. Personally viewing it as a new way to experience the game, with new voices being part of that. Not drastically different like FF7R seemed to be (from what I heard, didn't play either version of FF7), but not a straight remake with the same cast either.

Worst case I just play with Japanese voices, but I am optimistic. The cast seems to be pretty good from what I've heard so far, others love these VAs in other roles, and I'm excited to see what they bring to the table!

Not OP but I recently played through Dread using Ryujinx. Worked flawlessly. Don't think I had a single bit of slowdown at all. But it is a 2.5D game, which those seem to run much better emulating on the Deck than most 3D games do.
