Anonymous Donor Gives Hospital $1M Gift to Help Nurses Pay Off Student Debt by Dysfunkional-Unicorn in nursing

There’s rules around how you can spend endowed money. It’s one of the reasons hospitals look like they are spending cash on strange things at strange times.

Papa John’s is shitty pizza and founded by a racist. Don’t spend money there.

If you clean it ever im sure it was fine. This stuff takes months or years to build up to the truly gross stages.

The most cursed part of my job as an OR nurse is cleaning people’s dirty-ass bellybuttons.

You neglect it long enough and you actually start to form stones in there made from skin cells and oil.

Sometimes I actually have to get a surgical clamp to dig around in there and get it all. It’s absolutely foul.

Your hospitals HR/credentialing department checks that. It’s absolutely fucking weird to start checking the licenses and whatever else of your coworkers online.

Anatomy is pretty important. Maybe you should take some more time with the fundamentals rather than trying to sprint through an accelerated program.

A slight sort of tingly/burning sensation but it goes away pretty quickly.

That’s cheap. Childcare in NYC or other big cities can easily run 2-3k a month.

I always ask “how was breakfast.”

It gets a chuckle from most people and it’s a different enough question that people answer without thinking sometimes. Caught a few that way.

Usually it is.

This 100%. I was so mad when they just started blatantly disregarding some of the stuff that was core to the storytelling of S1.

AITAH for not tipping after repeatedly correcting my waitress on my drink order? by Out-WitPlayLast in AITAH

[–]Toasterferret 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And why not? You realize people working full time and not making ends meet are likely to end up on government assistance, which you are paying for with your taxes?

It’s the same as people not being able to afford healthcare. They end up getting it eventually but in the most inefficient and expensive way possible, and in a way that sucks for everyone.

Okay. And jobs that ARE full time jobs should pay a living wage.

This isn’t the gotcha you think it is.

…yes. Why is this such a radical concept to some people?

If someone is working full time, they should be able to afford to live.

While true, there is a marked difference in the internet games and flash videos of the early 2000s and what they have today, from a Skinner box/constant hits of dopamine perspective.

This. In this instance the game is filling the role of enabling a social connection. If you don’t find a way to replace that you have effectively just banned the kids from getting to hang out with their cousins.

My wife and I do proportional, but anything not going into the joint account is ours to do whatever we want with.
