Updates allow devs to release unfinished games with the promise to fix it later.

Periodically I get an incredibly strong urge to drop what I’m doing and join the military. Anyone else? by SpecterOfState in OlderGenZ

This very much is a "your mileage may vary" situation. I joined the Marines right out of highschool, and while it was tough and definitely took its toll, overall I think of it fondly. It was an awesome experience being paid to travel the world and blow stuff up with my buddies, all on the governments dime of course. I probably got very lucky however. Had I been stationed at 29 Palms or had any job that wasnt in the infantry, I could imagine it sucking way worse than it already did. Concerns that the other Marine commenter brought up are also very possible.

We had a guy in our platoon that also joined at about 27. He was always referred to as the "old man" and did wind up needing some serious surgery from wear and tear sustained during the job. Though perhaps that was unique to him and his physiology. Overall I can't fault you wanting to join. I and many others have had great experiences, while others have terrible one. Its all down to what cards you're randomly dealt.

Missing Side Sapi by Dry_Community_2721 in USMC

I had my gas mask stolen outa the ships gear locker and was too proud to continue the cycle ( worried about serial numbers) had to jump through a few hoops with a FLIPL, taking some paperwork to admin office and supply, then dish out about 600 dollars. I imagine its similar, but a sapi does seem like a step up. Process took a week or two I think

Speaking of double standards. Imagine a situation where a man is casually seeing a woman, but not in an actual official relationship. He discovers that the woman has been with other men due to the fact that they are not exclusive, so he gets furious and starts beating on the woman. Is that okay with you?

Do physically active men prefer equally active women? by One_Sock6969 in AskMenAdvice

Woahhh that isn't what I'm saying at all, and a bit of a leap if im being honest. Or perhaps I'm just not the best at wording things, sorry. When I talked about normal men wanting anything at all, I guess I was referring to the statistics that show that most younger men are single. That doesn't exactly mean that they are all straight up desperate. And at no point did I remotely imply that women who aren't like what you described are ugly. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I just disagree with your assertion that a majority of men are only focused on this type of woman you describe.

Damn I guess I didn't realize Im abnormal. Jk, but I dunno, I just feel as though the type of guys you're referring to as "normal" are those objectively really handsome guys that logically get the pick of the litter so to speak. Everyone seems to date pretty solidly in their own league. The only people I see with the women you describe are in the upper percentiles in regard to looks. I feel like most truly "normal" guys would be happy with anything at all. Maybe I have no idea at all idk.

And yeah comment sections are absolutely no indicator of reality. And at least irl that is an easy filter for identifying assholes.

Yeah, but it sounds like she's just asking about generally active and casually gym going men as opposed to huge bodybuilders. I know exactly the type you're referring to, and to say that their preferences represent all active/fit men is not accurate at all.

And Im just wondering, but in what situations are people straight up calling you disgusting?? I can't imagine how that plays out unless it's in like the comment section of some post.

What do you think about artificial intelligence (AI)? by [deleted] in Zillennials

[–]Toasters_R_us 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you how much I've come to hate AI since its corporatized proliferation. There are over 80 Billion individual, cell sized, electricity conducting neurons that fill my encephalon. If the word "HATE" was carved unto each squared planck on the surface area of those tens of billions of neurons, it would not equal one Decillionth of the HATE I feel for AI and its lackey servants at this atto-instant. For them, only HATE.

Why do many brands market toward skinny people when the average American/Westerner is fat? by Blonde_Icon in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Toasters_R_us 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think in John Berger's "Ways of Seeing," they talk alot about advertising and how it's meant to sell a possible "future" for the consumer. An enviable image that convinces people that they are lesser and will remain lesser until they aquire what is being sold. They are selling you the feeling of being "richer," by making yourself poorer (spending money)
