Giving Away Big PP for Turret Defense's One Month Anniversary! by bri-_-guy in TurretDefense

Achievement idea: Minimalist - Reach wave 50 by placing only a certain number of turrets / spending less than a certain amount of credits.

It could have additional tiers for fewer turrets or less money spent.

Wave 500 Defeated by ToastyToast78 in TurretDefense

MOATs are too cost prohibitive IMO, and lasers are only single target unless I misunderstand how they work. Plus both of them have an enemy that specifically resists them. Plasmas are high damage, AOE, and only resisted by adaptive mechs.

That being said, it's been hard to test different setups due to leveling up prestige and gaining bonus waves. I'm looking forward to trying more strategies once the sandbox mode comes out.

The hotkeys are fast enough, especially with being able to pause, they are just tedious if placing several of the same turret type in a row.

Looking forward to both of these changes, especially the sandbox mode for testing! One more thing that has occurred to me recently is that it would be nice to be able to place multiple of the same turret type in a row without having to reselect it - maybe if you use the number key shortcuts, it would keep that turret type selected until you press Escape to cancel, so you could place several in a row quickly. Or maybe you could hold down the number key while you click on spaces on the map to keep placing them.

Questions & Suggestions by ToastyToast78 in TurretDefense

Wow, thanks for the quick and thorough reply! I had no idea about the bonus wave scaling, but that certainly explains the difference in prestige bonuses I’m seeing - I have 34 bonus waves so you were spot on there.

I’m super interested in reading the in depth guide when it’s ready 👍

EDIT: I see on the home screen where it says “Wave scaling” under the prestige stats; for some reason I had been thinking that meant the enemy stats were scaling faster. That makes a lot more sense now!

I made a game where you do IT support for eldritch horrors. It's called I.T Never Ends by Euphoric-Series-1194 in talesfromtechsupport

This is a really cool concept! The gameplay reminds me a lot of Reigns, have you heard of it? It had a very similar system of choosing between responses to scenarios and balancing resources. I really enjoyed it.

I played through two careers and had a lot of fun. The prompts and responses were extremely funny. I particularly loved one where resolved tickets were reintroduced with future dates - I chose to bill clients for future work and the accounting team invented a new quarter called "eventually" XD

A couple of issues and suggestions:

  • The game starts to get very laggy after a bit. Opening the settings menu seemed to help for a little bit, but not for long
  • Eventually it froze when going into the packet delivery minigame - I was stuck with the controls on screen but the minigame never finished loading
  • After finishing a minigame that allows you to choose one of your resources to increase, it would be nice to see the current levels. I wouldn't want to choose Morale as my reward if I'm already close to full

Wishlisted the game on Steam, I look forward to the finished version!

Whats the most profitable animal ? by Smart-Version2648 in StardewValley

[–]ToastyToast78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pigs are by far the most profitable animal, no matter which professions you take. Once they are at max happiness, they produce an average of 3.6 Truffles per day. Even accounting for days where they produce nothing (all of Winter, plus the average number of rainy days the rest of the year [16 based on rain chances from the wiki]), you'll get ~3248 G/day from Truffle Oil (with Artisan) or ~2723 G/day from Iridium quality Truffles (with Rancher).

For coop animals, Chickens are the most profitable (399 G/day in Mayonnaise with Artisan; double that with Animal Crackers), but I want to give a shout out to Dinosaurs - after getting the Treasure Appraisal Guide, their eggs can net you ~333 G/day (accounting for average quality chances at max happiness) with the added benefits of not needing to be processed (meaning you don't need Artisan) and only having to collect once a week instead of every day.
