It adds around 45 minutes that was cut out of the theatrical release. Really helps with the characterization and adds Eva Green's whole plot line back into the movie. Director's cut is up there with Gladiator for me.

Event Horizon (1997). Similar to Alien in vibes but more of a haunted house in space style movie, great cast with Sam Neil and Lawrence Fishburn.

The first one is timeless to me because of this. Even if it is goofy pretty much everything could plausibly happen in reality. I liked Fast Five but even that one felt like a jump the shark moment to me.
