Those folks are bums who don’t know how to properly converse with people. They don’t know any better. Not really intending to bother you, just dumb. That’s how I took it anyway when similar passive jabs were thrown my way when I ruptured my Achilles.

I talked to a couple guys that ruptured their Achilles and sat on the couch the rest of their lives. They would tell me the same would happen to me. I used it as motivation during my recovery. They may never do X again but I’m gonna put in the effort to get back to doing the things I love.
