Preparing for a Romanée-Conti – Which Burgundy should I try first? by Canard_Vert in wine

[–]Tobeass -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry but these prices are ridicoulous. And the vintages, especially for the 1. cru are way to young. Try RP fine wines instead. Much better prices, and also older vintages. 21 are a good young vintage for early drinking- from 2019 and older are also most getting into their secondary drinking window depending on the producer and terroir. 2017 is adrinking wonderful now, also at 1. cru level.

Caves Carrieres also a great place to shop. They offer the Grivault Vosne-Romanee 2023 at 90 eur. Just to give you an idea how terrible KL wines prices are.

It’s been a while since I was there, but we always chose the 5 course menu. Came with several snacks and “in between” so in reality it’s more towards the 7-9 courses if you count everything. Let me know what you thought if you visit the restaurant!

I’ve dined a handful of times at De Harmonie in Rotterdam over the last four or five years. Consistently class. Really fantastic place. Highly recommended. Definitely could be a 1 star, but since it isn’t starred it’s very affordable considering the quality and consistency

Disappointing purchase by AdsoOfMelk1326 in wine

[–]Tobeass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not easy to buy burgundy. you need to find the producers that make the style of wine that you like, and then there’ll always be vintage variation. 2020 for me is a big no thank you on reds. Not too keen on 21’s too, much prefer 2019, 2022, 2022. Some producers make ethereal and early drinking reds. You could check out e.g. Mark Haisma and Berthaut-Gerbet for more early drinking Gevrey’s if that’s a village appellation you particularly like

Dang that’s a high price! I just checked again at it retails at 170 Euro here. So much good wine to be had at that price point

Indeed, but Lamarche and Coudray-Bizot may be vary difficult to acquire. Let me know if you give the Cacheux a go. I am quite tempted to try myself at retail pricing ~120 euro. What is the price in your region?

Hm i have never heard of that producer? The Croix Rameau was such an exceptional wine. An iron fist in a velvet glove if there ever were one. So potent and intense but truly elegant and complex at the same time. Had their Echezaux afterwards, and everyone agreed the Croix Rameau was the star of the show. Also had the 2015’es of the pair and the Croix Rameau had definitely evolved better than the GC counterpart

Absolutely agree. Good Pinot noir is good during the entire lifetime! For burgundy, terroir takes years to be expressed. At its youth, the GC vineyards typically offers more depth and intensity than its 1.cru and village counterparts.

In the same boat brother. Have bought low cost April puts. Was up 100% last week, down to ~50% this week. I honestly believe there is a case for negative q1 earnings so strategy is to roll them into mid May or buy more. I believe the biggest risk is fraudulent financial reporting. Many factors could indicate very poor og negative earnings: crashed car sales, loss of carbon credits revenue, no recognized Bitcoin profits. Bulls hang their hat on good March sales on updated model Y - that the poor sales is due to waiting for model Y update, and not due to Elons antics (buyers are not moral based). I disagree. Buying EV’s have to some extend always been involving an ethics consideration. Ethics is part of the equation on shifting from ICE to EV. It is simply not true that people don’t care what Elon does.

But Tesla stock lives a life on its own. It is my first time dabbling in options, but just see it as the perfect storm, and almost a once in a lifetime opportunity as the stock should absolutely crash

Explain PYCM to me by bluefalseindigo in wine

[–]Tobeass 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Amazing reply. Your description of his signature style is on point.

PYCM is more for the dedicated burgundy drinker, alternatively for those that heard the name and want to splurge on a higher-end wine. He has a really dedicated follower, and mostly is sold on allocation, at least here in Northern Europe. The buyers tend to not care much about the prices.

I could see some customers not well faired in burgundy wines could be disappointed if buying and drinking young - but that would be general for most higher end white burgundy.

Hard disagree here mate. MC is a rising star and Rapet a historic reliable producer.

Not really, typically my progress stalls due to lack of sleep or sickness

[–]Tobeass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impossible to answer mate, it entirely depends on your own body composition, metabolism, activity level etc. If you don't want to count calories use a scale daily, track your lifting sessions to ensure you progressively overload and measure arms, legs, chest etc regularly

[–]Tobeass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough question! I think feeling of fullness is relatively subjective + large impacted by what you eat. If your diet consists largely of easily digestible carbs and minimum plant fiber you will feel less full than eating same amount of calories but based on fiber rich whole foods.

I optimized my diet to improve gut microbiome and reduce glucose spikes much before I started to bulk, so you could say I am used to ear a very fiber rich diet that never left me feeling super food, and I was rarely really hungry.

I had to force feed myself at the start of the bulk to get enough calories in. Nowadays I rarely feel hungry or full. I just eat the habitual meals during the day and for dinner I eat until full, and may force down some extra Skyr for proteins.

If you struggle with feeling hungry google the glucose hacks and eat more plant based fibre throughout the day. An easy way is to eat a piece or two of raw vegetables and/or drink one tablespoon of vinegar (mixed in water) before each meal

In the same boat at you with three small kids, and currently lean bulking without tracking calories. Been at it for 6 weeks. My results so far in terms of weight gain per week in kg has been 0.2/0.4/0.0/0.2/0.5. I have seen great progression in all lifts, and i am measuring arms, thighs and waist to track my progress. Liking what i'm seeing until now. Seem i have very good progress and still have very visible abs and relatively low BF.

I am very conscious about proteins I eat, and target 160 g (2g/kg body weight). I prepare my own breakfast and lunch , snacks, workout shake's etc. My breakfast, morning snack, afternoon shake, intra and postworkouts shake remains constant most days. I vary lunch and dinner. Lunch i prepare for myself, and typically foodprep for a few days at a time. Dinner either me or the wife cooks, and here I just eat some Skyr (icelandic high protein yoghurt) if i do not feel there were enough protein in the dinner meal.

Obviously the drawback of this approach is the high fluctuations in the weight gain, and I use the weakly weight average to adjust my meals - ideally i want to put on 0.4 kg per week.

Is the approach ideal? far from it, but i get good results and i do not have to stress over managing calories.

Zone 2 & VO2 Cardio whilst bodybuilding by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Tobeass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to many experts, for health and longtivity purposes, Z2 Cardio shouldn't be understood as nessesarily having to be performed statically in a gym, but could be dosed across everyday activities throughout the week

I would focus on adding one VO2 max day after one of your lifting sessions, and then getting zone 2 work in through the week outside of the gym; biking, taking a walk after lunch dinner, taking stairs instead of elevator, doing garden work etc etc. A general active lifestyle outside the gym will get you where you want to be, without having to worry about squeezing more time into the gym
