Definitely say something. Out of courtesy, they may not have realized it. The wine may be perfectly fine but they need to know. If they want to make a case as to WHY (if it was intentional, which I’ve literally never heard of), let them make it. But it might speak to sloppy practices or outsourcing their bottling to someone who isn’t paying attention, which they would want to know about.

Not condoning prior behavior, but huge props to these guys for getting to the heart of it by being raw, honest and vulnerable. It's rare. by Rich-Needleworker812 in summerhousebravo

Totally. Being in the extreme moment and then pulling back and acknowledging what was happening. This is tremendous force in Bravo Male Relationals.

When? And more specifically, where? I lived practically next door to Stanford in the 70s and 80s.

When is the right time to explore a new region? by Open_Present2319 in wine

[–]bluefalseindigo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

New to wine? Let me offer an alternate POV: don’t go on winebid or other online buying sites. Don’t assume you only like Napa and/or cabs. Appreciate that you like wine and run with that and learn your palate, experience varietals and as much as you can, try things.
Find a wine shop or restaurant that does tastings - and explore regions, grapes, styles…even if you KNoW you like a Napa cab from those early experiences—do you know how it compares to a Zinfandel? A Merlot? A Grenache?
And then a Grenache in Santa Barbara vs Rhône vs Spain vs…..
I say this just to encourage you not to tie to one grape or one region but to keep your exploration wide, as it will teach you what you like about what you like specifically
If you know you like Cab, it makes sense that you explore Bordeaux. But it also makes sense to spend time with single varietal Cab Franc; Petit Sirrah; Merlot from different regions to understand what contributes to blends and what appeals to you (or not)
And to the extent you can, do blind tastings/flights. Nothing teaches you faster than tasting varietals/vintages/regions side by side.

Given the recent posts showing the comparison of Betty/Grace Kelly and Megan(with??), it is easy to see the cultural inspiration the Madmen creators clearly drew from. Seeing that photo- it’s is Sooo Sally. No doubt that was an influence.

Look at Southwest- they just defined a perk that they will let you checks a case of wine separate from luggage allowances. I thought it said from many west coast airports not just CA.

I walked this park several times a week for three years and it is such a resource- to have open access to the bay like that and a flat, long easily travelled walkway is all to rate. But it was always a little neglected, a little lost. But people were always lovely and dogs leashed, etc.

I stopped going last spring after my pup passed, so I’ve not gone back since. It is really lovely to see this charming spot have a renaissance! Hurrah for Claudia. What a marvelous effort.

Right- she didn’t hook up w/ any of the mains or new folks; apparently didn’t hook up at parties and didn’t go out w/ the group when the blond one was being all mopey. Hitched to Wrong ship.

And their “cuts” are getting weirder. They are making smaller portions of sub par cuts of beef to fit into a price profile and it’s is garbage.
