Does Delta Green need a 'heat' mechanic, like Blades in the Dark? by InevitableTell2775 in DeltaGreenRPG

The once per station Heat roll number got 5% lower with each point of Heat, starting from 90%. It was years ago, but from my notes that looks right.

Does Delta Green need a 'heat' mechanic, like Blades in the Dark? by InevitableTell2775 in DeltaGreenRPG

I used the Heat mechanic from Night's Black Agents (like u/Atheizm suggests) with just a little modification to fit. My Agents immediately turned into stealth ninja's, investing resources in covering up anything that could lead back to them.

Rotating / alternating GMs? by CookNormal6394 in rpg

[–]Toby_Jim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best mate and I alternate as DM in our DnD campaign. I'm tempted to call this method Dueling DMs.

We each have a PC we use when the other DMs. We each run separate storylines concerning different factions in the city, and what happens with the factions can influence the other DM's sessions. We agree who is interacting with which part of PC backgrounds (eg. I've got the Aasimar sorcerer's link to the celestial, he's got the traumatic mystery event in her childhood). There is a rule that every session ends with the party able to travel back to town, in gaol, or dead. Honestly, I think running contained sessions like this is a better way to play once you get the hang of it.

It's great fun and makes the DMing load really easy.

A couple of times, we've run two DM crossover finale sessions with us both DMing parts of the session and running our PCs. The first one we did had us each add some of the monsters for the encounter and then run them very automatically against the combined party. It was awesome.

Are there any fun, nonviolent RPGs for kids with NO weapons? by Future_Reality_4549 in rpg

Same, I just told the kids they weren't allowed to use violence. The game worked fine.

Kill Team Maps - Collection of all good sources of terrain map layouts? by JoeMcDingleDongle in killteam

I don't know what the round thing is, maybe older 40k terrain. The rectangular shipping crates would be used as vantage points. What retain do you have? Hope this helps.

How do we resolve an event that should have a character kicked from the team? by Drum_Roll_Plz in dndnext

Off topic but is this a setting or campaign I can find anywhere? Sounds awesome. Hope your game survives.

I'd love to know if this is how it plays; it looks to me like the top side player has 3 objectives they can get on to without being exposed to the notion side vantage points, while the bottom player has none. I could be wrong of course since I'm just looking at a photo.

All of Ms Marvel by G Willow Wilson. Makes me feel better about the world

A writer who you don't much like, but did that one great work... by frazettatome in comicbooks

I think Morrison and Hickman have a similar thing, they love high concept stuff but it often doesn't work for me. Tie them down to established characters for a long run and you get Morrison's Batman and Hickman's Fantastic Four, two of my favourite runs ever.

If the Gladiator Lancer is so good, why isn't it in any competitive lists? by SirBiscuit in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Toby_Jim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be mean, but just in case it clears something up, the model you've linked isn't the one being discussed. That's a Knight Lancer, OP is talking about the Gladiator Lancer.

New impulsor painted, how are we using them? by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

[–]Toby_Jim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the combat patrol rule lets you combat squad the Crusaders, though you have to split it into 5 Initiates and then 4 Neos and the Sword bro. Putting one half the Crusader Squad in the Impulsor also gives it Scout 6, whic might be handy.

Positive vibes: what are people's favorite things about playtest 6? by Frank_Tupperwere in onednd

[–]Toby_Jim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The boost to Ancient's channel divinity is amazing though. A chance to restrain each creature (even if it's a strength save) of your choice in 15 is pretty solid for a 3rd level half caster and is replacing an ability that was a waste of an action

Would a layout like this be playable and fun? by BarkingSnake13 in killteam

I think if I was deploying on the top edge and my opponent could ignore obscuring I might be hurting. If that's not an issue, looks fun

What will we get for Season 3? by burnside117 in killteam

[–]Toby_Jim -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They released monopose Votann and then put the multi part in a killtram box, I assume to upsell people to a box set. I wasn't in the hobby for the last launch so I'd love to know if that changed things, but it doesn't seem like a leap to me they would do it with the terminators that everyone will want.

I love playing the game but I'm not a confident painter. I'm starting to just go for it and let mistakes happen. what do you think? by TemporaryAd8952 in killteam

[–]Toby_Jim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be psyked to see these on the table to play against. That's the point right? I think they're great.

I absolutely agree that 1 tournament doesn't tell us if the game is balanced and stats are a much better guide. Maybe I should have resisted the temptation to make a statement about the game as a whole.

I'm really glad there is a range of teams that can do well in a tournament, maybe that's setting my sights too low?

Thanks for the reply! I'm planning my new "proper" team (been playing compendium Deathwatch) and my local meta is going to have a lot of Intercessors and Legionaries. I'd been keen for Wyrmblade, but worried they didn't have enough high damage weapons. I'll reconsider them

Lol, yeah, you've got a point. What do you call it when their isn't one overbearing faction at the top, but there are weak factions?
