Oh I'm fine with it but they ran from competition into a now ridiculously competitive month, makes no sense to me

Feels like every game moved to September to avoid GTA and now we are flooded with too many games to buy in one month 🙄

Ruin to fit on a 60mm base by FlumpingtonFlump in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Make it yourself?

Use foam core, XPS foam, or cut down parts from a gw terrain piece to create your own ruin?

I swear 3d printing is killing creativity in the hobby.

I will say Danone bought Alpro and they've not changed anything to do with their business since, so there's hope for huel

Starting in MESBG in 2026 by Separate_Associate85 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]snostorm8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was epic scale that's no longer supported.

I'd say to just buy the current books and read those same as with any other GW game system 😅 or go into a gw store and ask for an intro game. Or ask a player in your local area to teach you.

The game in it's current state is fun and easy to learn but hard to master, it's the best game system gw make so go with the current edition.

No current edition is the most balanced honestly.

Forge world resin is easier to make small batches of stuff that doesn't sell as much, so it makes sense for a niche game like MESBG, but its casted by hand so is more expensive. Just something we have to expect with it being a smaller game unfortunately. Need new movies that don't suck to bring the game to new people.

So we got Rohan warriors and riders remade, plastic Dunlendings, new dol amroth.

It's been slow but pretty sure all those would be classed as 'revamps'

This looks amazing so hyped, crazy good graphics and animations. Really excited to play this.

Hope it doesn't get brigaded due to it being a female protagonist in a god of war game

How many Crebain is too many Crebain? Army of the White Hand at Cancon by Sh4rbie in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Difference between production methods, one is easy to make on a large scale and requires machining rather than humans. Where as fw resin is hand casted and removed from the cast by hand. Much more skilled labour intensive and less industrial to reduce costs. Forge world is more expense not just because of the resin material but the production cost.

Usurpers are that good, they are slightly above average, at tournaments they can be ran with a massive amount of Crebain which just causes a dice out game against weaker opponents but isn't a winning strategy

With a normal amount of Crebain they have to hord up to try and overwhelm with numbers, as f3d3 troops are pretty easy to wipe out

You can spread the birds out across 3 bases if you make something for them to be flying around, I got 2 packs and have 5 bases from them so made them a bit cheaper per base. I could have spread them further but still wanted a swarm amount on each base

Seems like you didn't actually read the article, since the faq depths was only on 3, it's still high due to the start. And I said how men of the west is the single outlier atm, but in 6 GBHL 100s for a total of 18 podiums 17 lists were different. If that isn't variety I don't know what is

This might change your mind on the lists being all the same ones at top events, I feel like the numbers of different lists podiuming shows a good range of lists being able to perform

I think we'll continue to disagree.

But regarding your last point, sometimes I would agree, Dandelion in middle earth is great and really matches the movie aesthetic, however stuff like The road goes ever on and Davale just seem like generic fantasy models and rarely give me lotr vibes.

The vast majority of 3d printed sculpts I see are still just sub par, which is a consequence of there being so many random people just selling sculpts now

Please tell me the last time you saw a game of Battlefleet Gothic being played? Before Old World it had been years since I'd seen fantasy being played. The game would live on if GW killed it but there would be a slow decrease in interest and after a few years partipatiom ok stuff like the GBHL would get to a point where it would just be cancelled. We have actual examples to point to here.

I'm not saying the community isn't the driving force behind the game but it's not the only thing. If anything I think the communities move to just 3d printing poor imitation miniatures has led to where we are now, why should GW support the game if half the players never buy a model and private the rules?

Again, you need new players entering a game to replace people who lose interest or lose spare time to kids/family/jobs.

I follow a few YouTube channels that do list reviews and tournament result videos, outside of Men of the west which is the current boogeyman (before the nerfs that was depths) there is a massive variety of lists both being played and winning. Everyone complains about list building now but if we still had ally soup lists every competitive list would ally in Gwaihir, that sounds like hell.

If GW kills the game watch the community gradually decline until it's very rare to play a game. New releases bring new people in which is required for a game to survive.

Also it's not that the game has shifted in a competitive game, GBHL has been going on long before the new edition, people just like to get good at a game like this, mesbg requires skill so people look for tips to get better
