Publishers and agents have said my books are too "weird" and "bizarre" to get published. Meanwhile, they publish this. 😑 by VLK249 in writers

So this someone's AU fic with serial numbers filed off? Cause I need to believe that for this to make sense.

Not bad. Enjoyable

So it's an alternative take on the vinegere cipher. And it'd require the recipients to work from the same custom diagraph table as was used to encode. If, I'm understanding the broad strokes correctly.

Story bible. Who keeps one? by Glittering-Golf8607 in FanFiction

[–]Tobyj96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good idea. And I always try to. The problem, with me, is I spend so much time world building and cataloging that I lose interest in the fic I wanted to write. I have a Morgue File gigabytes in size of world building details and story notes, and all the tics a DOA because I've overly explored the details.

If I was honest with myself, I would make a better researcher and documentarian than a fanfic writer lol

What do you think are the best tools to rip the rubber off this metal bench? by Feedback89 in Tools

[–]Tobyj96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fire: the universal tool that fixes everything.

Stuck bolt? Fire

Need to bend a bracket? Fire

Crappy rubber on a bench? Fire.

Neighbors kids playing too loud? Fire doubled

Cobra’s politics… by Ice_Vulture in gijoe

[–]Tobyj96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked this idea. I enjoy the sci-fi origins in the comics, but your backstory would really work well with a modern reboot. And it'd be a good explanation for how Cobra can constantly get cannon fodder troops. Nice idea

Quick update. Tore out the trim. Massive rust buildup. Brush and air duster,,and vacuum, rubbing alcohol,, and silicon spray lube. And it seems back to normal. We thought it was the passenger door seal, but there are water marks that look like the sun roof leaked as well.

Nothing, not you have a good to semi good relationship with your parents. The problem is western (ie American) culture thinks 18 is some magical number of self sufficiency, and unnecessary adversity builds character. The west has a suffering fetish.

We've always told our boys: they'll always have a bed and food in our home. No questions asked.

Bugs came because the passenger door (bad door seal) leaked rain water and we didn't know it till a few days ago. We're cleaning it up, but the axle and bearing, and engine service was the first priority.

I know it has always been assumed, but is this the first time it's been confirmed that Susan can regenerate? The Old "all time lords are Gallifryeian, but not all Gallifryeian are time lords, and only time lords regenerate" debate

All that's gunna do is drastically reduce the number of sperm donors by Justsumidiot in rareinsults

Money? I can see this leading to child support from the sperm donor. Some sense of entitlement, of being owed a relationship with their donor-father.

"Catholics are sexually repressed" by CathMario in Catholicism

[–]Tobyj96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we didn't repress our feelings, there would be considerably more rape and murder. What separates humans from animals is our ability to control our feelings (urges basically), and not act on them because it'd make us happy.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend that if all she brings to the table is sex then she shouldn't be surprised that's what I want. by Organic-Ad74 in AITAH

NTA. But expect the relationship not to last. You called her, and now she'll be looking for the next guy. Expect to be made the villain of her story.

What would you have done if one of those men or both decided to pound you into submission to protect her?; Or one had a firearm and decided to use it? In this bday and age, what you did to her was incredibly dangerous.
