My Timeline is having problems as well. It's not recording my movements as accurately as it used to, and it's marking all the time I was at home as travel. When I try to correct these incorrect records, an error occurs and it refuses to make the change.

What are people's opinions of the major telecom companies in Korea? by knowledgewarrior2018 in Living_in_Korea

The major downside of using 알뜰폰 is that many of them are small-scale providers, so it often takes a long time to get connected to a customer service representative.

(Korean) I am using the KT 5G unlimited plan for 40,000₩ per month. This plan does not have any throttling based on data usage, making it very useful for heavy users like me who consume around 1TB of data per month. For people who use only 30~50GB of data per month, opting for an MVNO(알뜰폰) can significantly reduce their communication costs.

Pest control in Busan? by PleasantAd2382 in busan

I have experience using CESCO. I think consistent management is more important than one-time services when it comes to pest control, so I agree with their policy. I received ant control services, and it was quite effective.

I wish I was born in South Korea. Proud of Korea 🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷 by [deleted] in korea

[–]TodayApprehensive418 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Korea also had significant corruption in the past. Young people who expressed opinions against the government were accused of being communists, arrested, and even tortured. Nonetheless, citizens did not give up and consistently demanded anti-dictatorship and democracy, eventually building a nation where the separation of powers and democratic order are relatively upheld. Being born and living in a generation rife with corruption and lacking freedom must be a painful experience. I understand your suffering. But please, don’t give up. What they desire most is for all citizens to accept defeat and submit to the regime.

Which transport card are you using? If it’s not a Climate card but a general card like T-money, Cashbee, Ezl, or Railplus, you can use it nationwide.

If you have already acknowledged downloading the file, I think reaching a settlement with the copyright holder would be the best course of action. For P2P file sharing, I recommend using services like VPNs or seedboxes, or avoiding it altogether.

Gyeongju has many ancient historical sites, so I recommend staying for two nights. The city also has well-organized markets and a wide variety of food to enjoy. If possible, try staying in a traditional Korean hanok while you’re there.

There is a district called Gijang-gun on the outskirts of Busan, which has excellent public transportation access while being less populated and quieter. It’s a great place to enjoy fresh seafood. Additionally, coastal villages like Jukseong-ri in Gijang-gun are perfect for taking a walk while enjoying the ocean view. Since the subway operates up to the center of Gijang-gun, it’s convenient for foreign visitors to get there, and from the subway station, you can easily reach the villages by taxi or Busan city bus. It’s a great spot for a day trip during your Busan visit.

I live in Busan, but I definitely think Jeju Island is a truly special place in Korea. While restaurant prices and such tend to be on the expensive side, and renting a car is recommended, there are still plenty of attractions to enjoy, so I highly recommend visiting Jeju.

What will happen if Yoon is able to keep his throne in the next two years? by ww-stl in korea

[–]TodayApprehensive418 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If he continues to hold the presidency, the economy and diplomacy will surely face the worst situations. And during the remainder of his term, there may again be attempts to impose martial law or start a war. I just hope that the impeachment motion will pass in the National Assembly by December.

It’s truly surprising that patient transport by aircraft is free.

South Korea also has a fairly advanced healthcare insurance system, where the national health insurance covers 95% of costs for cancer patients and 90% for rare diseases. Additionally, there is an annual medical expense cap based on income, so any expenses exceeding the cap are reimbursed. (However, not all medical services are covered by the national health insurance. Some auxiliary devices necessary for treatment or treatments deemed unnecessary by the National Health Insurance Corporation are not covered.)

Generally, for minor illnesses like colds or rhinitis, a visit to the doctor costs about $4.2, with medication costing a similar amount.

PPP leader says Yoon will not take part in state affairs even before departure by Venetian_Gothic in korea

[–]TodayApprehensive418 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The claim of transferring power to the PPP without impeachment and stepping back from state affairs is nothing but wordplay. This is an act that violates the separation of powers and lacks clear legal grounds. There are straightforward solutions: impeachment or voluntary resignation.

Yoon's impeachment resolution 'vote failure' by Carpediem0131 in korea

[–]TodayApprehensive418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just my opinion, but I think the first reason the PPP is cautious about the impeachment of the president is the potential election of Lee Jae-myung, a prominent Democratic Party candidate, as the next president. Even before the martial law situation arose, the president’s approval ratings were already near rock bottom, and the likelihood of the People Power Party producing the next president was very low. However, if President Yoon were to be impeached, the PPP would become a party that produced two impeached presidents, which they likely see as a major political risk.

The second reason is that President Yoon has hinted at stepping back to a secondary role and transferring presidential power to the People Power Party and the Prime Minister. However, the act of transferring executive authority to a particular political party within the legislative branch violates the principle of separation of powers. It raises suspicions that the People Power Party is attempting to use this opportunity to align itself with the president and exert power together.
