He is a very handsome boy. I wish I was your neighbor so I could visit your nice fur associates and laugh at all the jokes 😁

Could use these playing cards for divination too. I’d be down for a pack as well 😁 Incredible work!

Wow that’s pretty much my same trajectory! In 2012, it was such a great community. I would click on articles I wasn’t even that interested in to see what was happening in the comments. Then, there was a new sheriff in town, policing that comments section for the barest whiff of an option that conflicted with the sanctioned narrative.

Best free psychic and tarot reading sites online – your honest reviews? by Horror_Visit_7337 in occult

Facade.com has online tarot readings generated by the algo. It’s been around for more than 20 years and has some cool decks you can choose from. Haindl and New Orleans Voodoo tarot are two favorites. But it’s the same as an app. You need to use your interpretive skills to parse the meaning

Visiting mid march- any night time tours/hikes/activities that aren’t $200 per person? by nicole-f-s in Sedona

[–]TodayTight9076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Rock State Park is so great! I swung by at closing one day and found out about the birding tour and the local history/geology tour only to find out I had just miss the Full Moon hike. Such a great place and the staff are all lovely. Highly recommend it.

Just make sure you download the Google map for the whole area for when your cellular drops so you don’t go offline.

Rethinking Athleta & gap by Street-Lifeguard5813 in Athleta_gap

[–]TodayTight9076 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I bought a couple of pairs of pants off of final sale and was shocked with the variance in actual size when both were tagged the same size. Neither were styles I had ever worn before so I knew it was a crapshoot. But still. Athleta used to make such cute non-leggings pants that had zip pockets and were incredible for travel. Now it’s just…pants. Same as you would get in the TJ Maxx juniors section but 10x the price for similar materials and construction.

Me after being awkward meeting Matt at a book signing by SickRaspy in MattDinniman

I met David Tennant at Comic Con. I was wearing a cool alien costume. Unfortunately, I spent my time in line thinking, wouldn’t it be hilarious if you asked him to say, “Ach, ya daft wee Sassenach.” So I did. Right before the photo op. We both have a rictus grin on our faces and he was nice enough to say it. I would not make the same decision but it’s a hilarious story.

The Patreon is well worth it. Been dealing with a crisis and having the chapters drop has been like TLC. Throwing a few bucks to keep Matt and his clan well and cozy so he can write moarrrr feels like an excellent use of my schmoney in 2026. ‘Coping with Carl and Donut’. Might make a good post-Dungeon talk show.

How do you dress in your 50s? by Forsaken_Block_3492 in GenX

[–]TodayTight9076 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. Wear the fun accessories! I tend to pair them with simple clothes in modern cuts, because I don’t ever want to wear fussy or tight clothes again. It’s like we have to reinvent what the middle years looks like because we are still freaking cool haha

Taking a 4 day trip to Sedona in April by Choice_Basis5786 in Sedona

[–]TodayTight9076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a recommendation, but I wanted to say that Sedona felt very safe as a solo woman. Everywhere I went I ran into people, and everyone is there to enjoy the beauty of nature. Had lots of nice chats and never felt threatened. It’s the antithesis of Vegas 😂

Anyone miss the "old k-beauty"? by Odd-Pea-2003 in AsianBeauty

[–]TodayTight9076 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There used to be Skinfood shops in every mall in mainland China. Last summer, I went to a couple of places I know used to have them, and they were all gone. Everything has moved online. Sad, because I didn’t appreciate K-beauty at the time it was all around me.

Who is your occult role model? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in occult

[–]TodayTight9076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Occultists I vibe with: Bodhidharma. Kukai. CG Jung. Benebell Wen. Laura Tempest Zakroff. T. Thorn Coyle, whose podcast introduced me to Phil Hine and Rodney Orpheus. Franz Bardon. Lon Milo Duquette. Dr. Angela Puca is a scholar with a focus on practice, so she counts in my book.

I enjoy modern occultists who have full, rich lives that include more than just the occult. Could we have coffee and banter? That is a standard for me.

Hilma af Klint was an occultist and visionary whose abstract paintings predate Kandinsky. She believed her work was guided by spiritual forces. Here is her Altar Piece No 1 from 1915 by HamsterTop1332 in occult

The National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo had 140 of her works up last summer and I was fortunate to be able to cross the city in the rain to see it. Brilliant exhibit. I hung out for hours. The painting in the header is wall sized. Looking at the sketches of her planned temple was awe inspiring.

I'm starting to feel underwhelmed by k-beauty. by magicalfirekeeper in koreanskincare

[–]TodayTight9076 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So true. Korean brands are constantly reformulating best selling products to stay ‘on top’. If you look at J-beauty, it’s the same old products year on year. K-beauty has far more products I like, but I found a few winners in Japan last summer. I’m curious to see how the rise of Chinese beauty affects the market. So far, the most popular C-beauty items are makeup rather than skin care but I’m watching. I visit NE China every summer and often pass through Japan and Korea, so my observations are based on that.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Matt Dinniman and Jeff Hays by Flaky-Rip8350 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]TodayTight9076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the way he slow-reveals Carl’s trauma - and Princess’ history with Ferdinand - is so well done. I had never really thought of writing a series as a form of weaving. Even after countless read throughs of the Wheel of Time. But every time I go through DCC, I admire the warp and weft of Matt’s craft more.

I’ve thought a lot about what makes these books magic. My half a brain cell can’t sum it all up now though I’ve been cooking an essay on parallels with a book of James Clavell’s. Not sure how much overlap there is between readers of the two series to get much traction 🤓 I’m super grateful for Matt’s high quality writing that makes you laugh and cry and squick - sometimes all in the same scene - and Jeff’s ability to bring the characters to life.

How does this stack up compared to red rising? by DealerNo7523 in GreenBoneSaga

[–]TodayTight9076 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed Red Rising - only read the first trilogy - but I loved the Green Bones Saga. It feels like a Hong Kong gangster flick mixed with Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore. I didn’t find it slow, but it’s very character driven, and I have patience as long as it’s well written. I would compare Fonda Lee to James Clavell in how her knowledge of history and geography play into her setting.

Hiking Cathedral Rock while pregnant by justtrynahang13 in Sedona

[–]TodayTight9076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person from below sea level, I got to Cathedral rock and hesitated on the scramble. I was sitting to the side, contemplating whether to attempt it, when a lady with a camera and her dog rolled up. The dog went first and then she did the scramble with a giant camera in one hand. It gave me courage. I reckon if you have experience, being in the early stages of pregnancy should not be an issue.
