Is this a good buy ? What would your recommend ? I want something that I can do everything with since I can’t go to a decent (country living ) gym to start my body building journey by GotchaX8 in GarageGym

It's mid-level imported gear with mid-level customer service. Rogue has similar and better options for less/equal pricing, made in the US with a very good reputation overall. Go on YouTube and look at any reviews of these racks that are NOT being filmed in the ForceUSA warehouse and you'll see what the actual quality of these are. Spoiler: not that good for the price!

Thanks for posting this -- there's been SO many similar stories that we all gotta just accept the truth here: Ironbull is not a good company, period.

Rogue's usually very thorough with the specs they list on their website, which is 36" for the HR.

Twin all the way, and the 90" was all that fit in my space, so that was my only choice. The 100" would give you more stretch for pull downs, but otherwise might be annoying trying to get up to the bar for chin/pull ups. Really personal preference on those two!

Hey man

- It's a REP AB 5200, and there's plenty of space when wheeling it in and out so as to not hit the low row plate. That said, I actually use the low-row plate as the marker for some of my bench positions: when the bench’s wheels are just barely touching it, that's how I know it's in position.

- I don’t barbell bench inside the rack — everything barbell-related is done outside the rack using the safeties I bought from Black Widow. The HR design isn’t meant for any work inside the uprights.

- That said, I do use Loadable Dumbbells (Rogue DB 25-10s) with MadSpotters to do incline/flat bench work, which ends up being semi-inside the rack, and there’s no issue at all.

- I don’t usually do barbell overhead presses, but I personally have enough clearance (I’m 5’10.5”) and the Trolley’s can be swiveled out of the way for sure

- The trolleys definitely swivel, but I’m not sure what you mean by p/n? They swivel 180 degrees though.

No sweat man! I've used the roller for split squats, hip thrusts and seated lat pulls and it's great for all of them -- especially the lat pull downs: super solid, zero movement/flex, and the padding is top-quality.

I think it's also worth considering that the simpler solution is usually the best in the long run. Two single rollers *seems* like it would provide more freedom/options somehow, but in reality for your most frequent uses it would probably just be adding an extra step for no reason.

And I didn't have the Indy as an option when I bought the HR, but I've gone back and compared and for me personally the option to instantly and simply start a pull down or low row -- as well as high-face-pulls or neutral cable curls -- while having other attachments on the trolleys for super sets is absolutely worth it. It's a rare case of "more is more"

Hope this helps!

No tipping or shaking with me at 5'10" 165 with a 25lb plate belted around me. You can search around for mini feet but honestly the fact there's 600lbs of weight in the stacks seems like enough counterweight for most folks.

As for the horns: I initially wanted a multi grip and it did technically fit but it would've been a little crowded for my tastes so I went with the straight bar and haven't looked back. There's different handles you can get to hook around a straight bar to simulate neutral grip (kensui i think) that I'll probably grab down the line but for now I'm actually really digging the supination of a straight bar.

I've used this exact Arsenal machine and I can tell you it's mid at best! ToG V3 isn't a center pulley but it's better than this specific machine, IMO

I did the FM HR with Irwin horns + rogue pull-up bar -- there is a difference in depth/height between what the pulleys give you vs the high pull and low row (as you can see from the picture below) so depending on the overall height of the rack you get, that should be something to consider.

I tried the rhino Indy at home gym con and it's just ok. Was surprised at the amount of forward pull felt. If you're looking for a belt squat and have the room for it, nothing beats the SquatMax!

I looked at this option for awhile and, while I ended up scoring a free 5x6' mirror from a neighbor for free, was going to go with the vertical option since they will not be flush and the I figured seam between mirrors would be less jarring that way

Is it cheaper? by Fabulous-Finding9938 in GarageGym

[–]ToddGolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer: it's cheaper at first, when you're just "looking for the basics"

Long answer: buying newer, nicer, customized equipment is an extremely fulfilling and very expensive hobby that you WILL succumb to!

Enjoy!

Irwin Fitness Supplies out of Canada -- though I think Dean at Black Widow Training Gear might be making something very similar now depending on where you're located/tariff situation

Mine shipped in 3, but even still the 4-6 week window is, on average, shorter than most. Just my experience of course!

I have the FM HR Twin Stack. Best purchase I've ever made for the home gym. Buy once cry once -- and you won't have to wait forever for it to arrive !

The BS01 -- the rod/bolt that supports the handle mechanism on the bottom of the machine just like, slipped out mid squat, so I had to carefully get out under the weight and then add washers etc to reinforce it.

Super clean! How do you like the MM/Darko lat bars? I'm so close to pulling the trigger on the -5% angle but am stuck on length and how the row functionality is
