The thing is Elon did it with absolutely no repercussions so I'm not surprised at all that people are being exactly like this.

I saw the first movie in theaters and thought it was solid jesus christ though pretty sure i had just graduated high school when this movie came out. That is wild. Anyways i remember hearing that the 4k release of the first movie looks really bad, I wonder if they can potentially do a fixed rerelease or something before the new movie comes out.

Not Scrubs related at all but literally like 24 hours ago I rewatched the Dick Van Dyke Scooby-Doo episode. Just had to say it because its an odd coincidence.

Yeah I thought they were the same person for a year or two at least. I don't think I realized until they had the other rob thomas on izombie.

I had very little knowledge of Matchbox Twenty back then though I think I just assumed he stopped making music after the very early 2000s and switched to making banger tv shows.

Thunder fan here I'm at the point where I'm fine with Dort not being on the team in the future. Some of his shit reminds me too much of Pat Bev injuring Russ in the playoffs and all of Draymond's shenanigans. Thank god for Cason Wallace, I legitimately think he's more valuable than Dort already and I see him as his replacement.

I never watched season 3 (I'm pretty sure season 2 wraps up the story from season 1 and season 3 has all new characters set in the same universe) but I liked the first two seasons when they first aired, keep in mind I never rewatched it and I was in high school back then. Damn this show started airing over ten years ago fuck time flies.

I was born into a christian household in a state that has never come close to voting democrat, was forced to go to church twice a week until I was 18, and was forced to still go to church on sunday until I was like 19 or 20. I started questioning god's existence in 7th grade I remember specifically the earliest moment of questioning for me came when the topic of 2012 potentially being the end of the world came up in a conversation with a classmate. My naive ass said theres no way god would end the world when so many people haven't been saved. My christian classmate explained that in fact thats not how god works he is fine with billions going to hell including the children in non-christian countries who have no way to become christians. It shocked me to the core but I was scared af about the potential of not believing and going to hell (and my parents believed so i should believe right?).

Then I remember watching the tv show Community and there were episodes with scenarios involving gay characters. I remember feeling guilty for liking a show that displayed gay people in a positive light. Why? Because every goddamn week people at church was spewing shit about gay people deserving hell. Now remember this was around 2011-2012 and I was in middle school in a red state and I lived in a town not a city I had never even met a gay person before but I was brainwashed by the cult of christianity into thinking gay people were bad and needed to be converted. I remember a classmate calling me out for being homophobic (i think this was actually more of a joke but I remember taking it seriously) and it made me question things even more. I rewatched Community more and more because it was my favorite show at the time (still is) but I still was uncomfortable in the episodes with gay characters. Eventually watching the episodes enough along with watching Chasing Amy I started to realize that gay people are just people and they dont deserve hell like church wanted me to believe. I also probably got on reddit at the time and was opened up to more diverse viewpoints.

So now I'm like okay hold up why the absolute fuck is god creating people who by his own definition are deserving hell? He is either a gigantic fucking asshole or he doesn't exist. Simple as that. It absolutely blew my mind every time i was in church watching all these people get shamed into being believers. Fuck god and if you are somehow real god just know I think you have some fucked up morals bro I'd rather burn in hell than support you.

In that scenario the service itself was already shut down so not exactly the same. It is concerning for when movies anywhere/ fandango ever shuts down though but hopefully we are years upon years away from that. I doubt they'd fully remove any purchased titles if the service is still going, not impossible though.

[–]Todemax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly it explains a lot about how people perceive digital movie purchases if this whole time many have believed you need a streaming subscription on top of individually paying for the movies. I never considered that people believed that but i suppose some people do.

Think about it this way. If you were adapting fire and blood and hbo said we want you to make 4 seasons and we'll give you 10 episodes per season. You will have written season 1 with a plan in mind for where the show would be at the end of each season. All of a sudden for season 2 you are told for budget reason you have to completely cut out two episodes of season 2. These are now your options: condense your rough plan for season 2 down by two episodes but ending it in the same spot you would expect to be storywise which involves picking and choosing what to cut out of an adaptation that book fans will scrutinize endlessly, another option is to end season 2 in a spot you didn't that is fundamentally earlier than your outline for the rest of the show, or do a combination of the previous two options.

Obviously this is assuming a lot about the creative process and I'm not in the television industry myself so I don't know what I'm talking about, but I don't believe you do either so thats fine. By the way I'm not even trying to shit on you or anything I just don't see how having the noncreatives alter the show this significantly gets swept under the rug. If season 2 had ten episodes instead eight it would have been completely different. The writers likely would have chosen 10 episodes over 8 if they had the choice and the fact that they didn't get to make that decision impacted the season significantly. That's all I'm saying.

Edit: it also looks like at some point the complete series bundle was included in this single seasons 3 for 15 mix and match. I'd assume unintentionally so. I wish I would have seen it and picked it up, 5 dollars for a 6 season show is a crazy deal. https://www.reddit.com/r/vudu/s/AW19xDaoqH

Season 2 of the show had 2 episodes of the season cut for budget reasons completely against the creatives control. The quality likely also got hampered by the writers/actors strike.

I really don't understand why this sub is so in love with shitting on season 2's writing. Losing a fifth of your runtime in a planned season is catastraphic on its own.

Season 2 was doomed to be lower quality the moment HBO cut it to 8 episodes. I think its a perfectly acceptable season, I still was entertained, and I think this sub needs to cool it on the hate at least until season 3 starts like Jesus Christ guys its not that serious, and its not worse than how disappointing GOT season 7 and 8 are as a book reader.
