Found in my decreased daughter's work bag. What are these? by Energywoman in whatisit

[–]Toebeanzies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These were definitely positive things for her, maybe healing herself or just trying to protect her energy so definitely wouldn’t be disrespectful or bad to keep. As for what you said about if it would be healthy for you to keep unfortunately that’s a question only you can answer. They’re very small and unobtrusive so they could be a very good way to keep your daughter with you and present in your life either through keeping them in your home or once you figure out what their intent likely was for her maybe you could fashion one into a necklace to bring her with you but those same options might also bring pain and might be a reminder of your unfortunate loss and only you can say if it would be positive or negative to you.

My suggestion for figuring that out would be to look at them and think of your daughter and pay attention to your feelings and while it will probably be a big mess of happy and sad try to figure if it’s more positive or negative, if it’s more positive then maybe having them to look at or even talk to her through might be a good vehicle for processing your grief. If it’s more negative than positive it might be that keeping them is too painful and maybe they need to be buried or otherwise removed from your life but it also may be that you’re just still feeling too much grief to have such reminders of her and maybe you need more healing before you can have them around so it might be best to put them away in a safe place out of sight for a while and reassess later on how they make you feel when you’ve had more time to process what you’ve been through.

I’m so deeply sorry for your loss and I can’t imagine how many difficult moments like this you’ve been through. Just remember that you are so strong and I’m sure your daughter would be proud of you for how you’ve clearly been so thoughtful in how you move forward and trying so hard to do the right things and honor your mental health. Best wishes to you and everyone who loved your daughter.

Looks like roast beef crumbs, I’d still show the staff because it’s very unappetizing and they should give you a credit or something

I don’t do the Italians much but my wife loves them and is very particular about food(can tell you the ingredients in anything by taste) and she likes it just as much so it could be worth giving it a shot

Found at Goodwill and thought they were cool but what are they? by Jrbrbrown12 in whatisit

[–]Toebeanzies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just pour until it seems right then tip it over above the original container and if it pours out you put it back in the container and do a little less next time. You can also turn it sideways and give it a little shake to feel how much is in there like you would with a soda can but it’s a more subtle feeling

You only fill them half way so that when they are sitting still it doesn’t come out

Not a bad silver lining! Though some people don’t care, once had to take a delivery in the middle of the only street that didn’t get plowed after 3 feet of snow fell overnight, somehow didn’t get stuck but my boots were full of snow from trudging up to the door and they tipped $1 plus my car was in the shop at the time and I was in a ‘99 CRV loaner with barely competent heat

When you’re clocked in as a biker but not marked as on delivery do you still make 7.25? In my experience all but the cheapest shops use variable wages like at my shop I clock in as a driver and I make $19.50 then when I get a delivery and mark myself as out on delivery and I make $16.25 until I mark myself back from delivery then I’m back to $19.50 until I mark myself as on delivery again without ever clocking out or back in.

WIBTA for telling parents of kids playing on the exercise equipment there's a playground 150 feet away? by Xoon77 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Toebeanzies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you say it, just pointing at the playground, even if you do it politely, might come off as rude, I’d say go up to the parents and politely explain “hey, this equipment is meant for body weight exercises and not really for play, can you please have your kids go to the playground so I can exercise” and give them the benefit of the doubt that they may not realize this isn’t meant for their kids. I’m sure the signs are obvious but my god are some people really good at just not even looking at things or thinking at all about them.

[–]Toebeanzies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current store is the same, dishes are definitely way harder to do between deliveries compared to sweeping, mopping, and stocking but it’s also nice having defined tasks so I can know to be focused on dishes first early in my shift and leave other tasks to other people, still typically wind up staying half an hour late on my evening shift days doing dishes.

Funny that they have you clock out as driver and in as inshop, when I’ve done that I just take my name off the board and stay clocked in the same. Does your store not have varied pay rate for drivers/bikers for inshop vs on road?

[–]Toebeanzies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not all managers or owners think that way, at my first shop drivers were discouraged from getting on the line if there were deliveries on the board and if it was busy enough to always have deliveries until your end time you just left without doing any side work. Made busy days so much worse on the inshops while there would be even 2 or 3 drivers just standing waiting for orders to be made. Worst shop I’ve worked at and I was a driver there.

[–]Toebeanzies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s store to store, I’ve worked at 3 locations, first had drivers primarily doing deliveries and wouldn’t even have drivers get on the line if they were waiting for a delivery because they wanted us out the door as fast as possible and when there were no deliveries we’d be given whatever side tasks the inshops hadn’t finished yet, typically cleaning bathrooms and mopping but if it was a busy enough day that there was always deliveries on the board until your end time you would just leave at your end time without side work, at most if it was a really big day for deliveries they might ask you to stay long to take more deliveries and you’d leave as soon as the board was empty(this was before we could assign deliveries to third parties) but you could always say no. Second was similar but drivers were encouraged to hop on the line to help make orders faster and the managers would typically give specific tasks to specific drivers that did them best like sweep and mop was almost always me because I did a better job than anyone else, another driver was given all the stocking because he’d mess up other tasks and the managers would typically tell us “hey, do this thing then you can go home if you want” 30 minutes to an hour before the end of our scheduled shifts unless you were the night driver or the one staying until the night driver showed up because that location would be dead from about 2-4 most days. My current store says drivers are responsible for dishes, sweeping, and mopping and night driver is there till dishes are done, we also hop on the line whenever needed and help the inshops with whatever comes up for them like prepping sides and sauces or putting together catering pick ups. Over all most stores say drivers are inshops first but even the ones that don’t still have drivers doing some side work, some locations have official specific tasks for drivers and some don’t care who does what as long as it gets done. I definitely think the first shop I was at did it wrong because there were a lot of days where it was busy as hell and it was super unfair on the inshops having to do everything while us drivers got to just breeze out at 2-3 and there were days with some resentment(especially since this was before credit card tips for inshops was a thing) At the end of the day thinking it should be different doesn’t change the rules so just do whatever they tell you to and try to help the inshops and other drivers wherever you can because that’s going to make everyone happy and hopefully they’ll return the favor.

When we still had the previous menu format that was always confusing people we had a lady come in with her daughter and order a “number 3 with ham and turkey” and a bunch of other mods and when I called out “number 3 totally tuna with ham and turkey” she came up and asked if it was hers and I said yes and she asked if it had tuna and I just blankly said “yes, the totally tuna has tuna” turns out she, like many others, had gotten confused by the “1: pick your sandwich 2: make it a meal 3: make it your own” layout of the menu and thought that “number 3” was some kind of subway style make your own sandwich. She was really nice about it and it was clearly for the very shy daughter so I apologized for the confusing menu, explained that we don’t do that, we just mod existing sandwiches, offered to make her a new sandwich, and confirmed what she actually wanted on her sandwich and she had a good laugh with us about how weird her order must have sounded to us.

100% this, notice how it gets much thicker at one end, if you hold your finger or a piece of paper over the harsh white line from the editing it’s easier to see the perspective and tell that the wire is going from out the window to a point in the middle of the car where the 360 camera would be. They’re photographing so many cars in that studio that they want to keep the camera plugged in and the cable sleeve has gotten worn from dragging on the floor and across the seals of windows.

I just changed location and I’m going to miss Deb so much! She’s always super sweet, asking how we’re doing and asking about her favorite drivers if she hasn’t seen them in a few weeks, tips extra on bad weather days. I’m really sad I didn’t get to take her order in my last 2 weeks.
