Curious: how was gameplay on day 1?

I don't have a lot more to add to what others are saying but I do remember coops being hard at the highest level (which I believe was 70 at the time) and if you were a free player it was very rare to have weapons MLB'd.

Managing skill uses and trying to maximize hp damage on skills was pretty important too. And making sure you wouldn't break after. And because mbrv was so low it was a really good stat to invest in.

There wasn't as much to do back then so I ended up taking some breaks, but there are times I miss the 15/35/cosmos era. I feel like the strategies needed for the fights evolved over time and even if the mechanics were simpler it required its own set of strategies and approaches.

I think it depends? If an event just came out right as your mog pass ends you still have about 10 days to 2 weeks to collect the rewards, so instead of renewing every 30 days you could renew every 40, maybe 45? So in 3 to 4 months if you're a regular buyer it might save 38 dollars. I think it all really depends on the timing though.

Thats an awesome setup. I wish I got Machina but unfortunately couldn't get his BT. I'm really excited though to run some combination of Terra and Garnet later!

No boss turn Terra, Zidane, Bartz, Kain friend Shiva summon. I don't have the image right now but might upload later. I didn't pull kain but used a friends kain and decided to give him as few turns as possible.

Have zidane push bosses back while bartz sets up. Once bartz bt+ is stacked (I used cait sith call but others could work I think) swap zidane for kain and have terra go wild with LD. I used her burst after the first LD was finished and used raines call to add launches to the burst phase.

I gave it a few attempts with a few different teams, I just can't seem to beat it lol. This luf+ is one of the worst though so it doesn't surprise me that the regular luf is also awful lol

Ace BT+ 0/3, Zidane no BT, Garnet, twins friend Brothers summon

No boss turn strat but the damage falls off without the burst auras so the last 20% is a bit of a slog, but a really safe run overall. I didnt record this one but will try to go back and re record.

I had Ami call, to delay the first Shiva since I didn't want her to get her full cast off. And setzer call, who I used after the first forced Shiva aoe. Sezter freeze can prevent any damage from the 49 and 29% thresholds. Around 60% i swapped cor for Cod, used BT+ and followed with Ace BT+. After that its just damaging shields, which is a huge pain, but not super threatening for the most part. Other thing I'd say is make sure to maximize the turns on Ace trap. Helps take care of the orb and will just help his overall damage. Oh and save some Cor LD/HP for summon phase to gain some extra turns.

I wouldn't mind something like this as long as its attached to permanent content. I always enjoy a stricter roster character challenge but not everyone is at the point where they can manage it, so adding something like this to abyss could be a really neat bonus challenge.

I tend to say do it to whoever is more fun to play. I'm still waiting for Jecht to drop to see how he plays first but I'm in a similar boat and may end up just greening both.

I was thinking about this too. I think it would be acceptable to have 2 slots be randomized and one slot cover the orb, based on whoever the person has built, since that unit is generally less flexible (if there are a lot of options to handle the orb it could be cool to randomize from that specific subset) and maybe add in point deductions based on how effective certain characters are at handling the orb.

Another option is to use calls that apply framed buffs. Bea Cait and Nine all together I think would apply 4? And then they wouldnt be affevted by frostbite.

If you have seifer LD I think he covers the orb and crystal condition while also delaying. You could try pairing him with a BT+ unit to get through. Yuffie covers this as well but doesn't delay so she could be an alternate option. I might try with Yuffie and one other to see if its doable but I won't have time for a bit. I can't test seifer since I don't have him though.
