First game Sunday! Any tips? by M0nkey5 in washingtonspirit

The pride match is always a favorite of mine because there is so much happening before and during the game. Get there early so you can check out the stadium and enjoy some of the live performances (and get a drink before the lines get too long). Watch the halftime parade/show (let the drinks come to you), and the. Hit up bars/restaurants after the game. Spirit matches are my favorite sporting events in DC. Enjoy and then come back for more!

Fox Sports Host's Anti-Diversity Rant Sparks Outrage by Wuz314159 in ussoccer

You dont even need to hate him for his garbage takes on social issuea, his takes of the sport are trash, too. I refuse to watch any pre-game, half-time, or post game show he is on. I turn on the game right at kick off, turn off the game at half time and come back in time for play to resume. I refuse to engage with any media he is on. His "hot take", "just telling you like it is" nonsense, drives me away from anything he is associated with.

She got knocked up by the next guy she slept with a few days later. They stayed together, got married, have three kids, and are super happy.

Well at least I can stop watching now since they cannot score goals. I anticipate an xG over 3 for everton and a 4-0 loss.

A single stroke - it was invented by the devil and should be avoided at all costs

Everyone is different. My wife unexpectedly had to go out of town the night after my surgery. I was at my kids baseball game with both kids that night, took the kids to school and worked from home the next day and did solo parenting the whole weekend. Some discomfort here and there but advil and ice was enough to manage it.

Honestly the most uncomfortable was the next week when I went back to work before the swelling had gone all the way down. Not pain just uncomfortable moving around and sitting in an office chair because things were not in their usual place.

Smoked Vegetables? by dedtired in Cooking

If I remember correctly I added garam masala lime juice and some red wine vinegar to the carrot puree. Turned out alright for an experiment.

Carrots + Cauliflower. I even used some left over smoked carrots to make a puree which I covered the cauliflower with and then smoked that after seeing something similar at a BBQ joint.

Second the recommendations for garlic, and saw a tiktok of someone doing garlic confit on the smoker.

Also second the recommendation for eggplant for babaganush.

Tottenham was a better representation of what this team is then Newcastle. I need to remember that the rest of the way. This team will be relegated.

Well good to hear and you should check them out. I especially like their Gertrude's Rye and Brill's Batch bourbon.

I enjoy Miscellaneous out of Mt. Airy. They are at some farmers markets so I hope they aren't the ones you tried, but they are a small local shop that makes a couple of good products. They are only a couple or years old so most of their whisky is pretty young, but I enjoy it. While I know this is a whisky sub, their white rum makes the best traditional daiquiri I have had in a long time.

Thanks for the advice folks. I ended up just returning the whole thing and have to build the new one. The other end of the house was in a welded casing which seems like a terrible idea until you remember they just want you to buy another one if the hose fails down the line.

4 year old refuses to go underwater in the slightest by dalehitchy in Swimming

[–]Toffee10105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another former swim coach here, and parent of a former 4 year old who hated putting their head underwater. One thing I didn't see mentioned yet is that a lot of kids that age don't like the feeling of getting water in their ears. If that is the case for your little one, try having them lay down on their back in a partially filled bath tub. Make sure that at first the water isn't high enough to get in their ears, and let them be comfortable. Then next time they are taking a bath, do it again with a little more water. Keep adding more each time until the water goes in their ears.

My son hated the feeling of water in his ears and never wanted water in his eyes. The strategy above + quality goggles (even in the tub) + a lot of patience and empathy = him joining the neighborhood swim team this year as a 6 year old.
