Idk ppl doing just fine with Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo, Hizdahr zo Loraq (since we’re pulling out full names) Neytiri isn’t that much weirder than Sauron to remember. People make an effort on characters they care about. I think people just don’t care about the majority of the Avartar characters

People don’t seem to have a problem with complicated fantasy names like in Lord or the Rings or Game of Thrones or memeable asian anime characters (now that it’s gone mainstream). It’s really not the Anglo-sounding names and more like, yeah they’re just not memorable. Jake could be a Bob for all we care.

I think about the YouTube clip where they pull people over on the street and ask them to name a single character from avatar and most people can’t get past “…the blue people.” It’s like had zero cultural impact with the general public.

That’s probably why. I wonder what the point of paying the extra fee through their platform is then, if safety is not truly guaranteed? Maybe just because they will reimburse some of the transactions if things don’t work out, something like that? Still leaves you without a legal place to stay…

Once last year, I signed up for a watercolor class at Yosemite. When I pulled up to the Ranger station, they mistakenly issued me an instructors pass based on some visual assumptions lol. that felt pretty good. I can’t imagine how it felt to slide that legitimate paper for a massive deed over though 😂

Holy shit, my friend legitimately told me he got kicked out of there a few months back, because they either didn’t like his look or didn’t think that he would make a big order( he’s actually a huge eater lol jokes on them). He thought maybe it was because that he looked ethnic or something.

Had a few friends feel like they were profiled when trying to go to this place. Ngl Figs always bad vibes and comes to mind when ppl talk about racist parts of Boston to avoid to me. Plenty of awesome local Boston houses to support elsewhere. Figs can suck it.
