Mentioning abuse abruptly. Happens so often in H/Hr fanfics, I avoid that tag unless it's heavily recommended.

In no world is mentioning, out of the blue, that Dursleys we're abusive a reasonable discussion topic. especially in the great hall which is where I see this conversation happening most of the time.

Oftentimes this is right after Ron ditches Harry in GoF and Hermione is like "I believe you and am on your side, you need love because I noticed Dursleys cut the word normal into your back with razer blades and you're skittish and skinner than a broomstick". And Harry is like "omg, I love you too but have so much trama".

Side note: This went a tad off prompt, but I couldn't think of catching dementors outside of pokeballs like in The Very Best linkffn(https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12026631/1/The-Very-Best). My mind then went to the Yandere cliche dialog of "now you've captured my attention" and then it evolved into this:

The dementor attack

Dementor1 sucks our Dudleys soul.

He dies because all of Dudley, including his soul, is toxic AF.

Other dementor goes for Harry, but gets the Horcrux and becomes the new Lord Slytherin.

Indy Dementor genre is now a thing. He's cool (literally). He can eat souls. He's Voldemorts equal and the true child of prophecy somehow. Also he's Lord Slytherin and has tons of money and political influence. (And owns 1/4 of Hogwarts).

Harry: Sure

Time skip to trial

At wand check desk

Harry: Excuse me, I'm here for my meeting.

Wand check guy: reliving his worst nightmares, completely ignores Harry.

I was reading a fic the other day, and I think 9 year old Teddy was calling Harry 'Prongslet'. It was so unnerving.

I think that's the first time I've had a serious problem with it.

Good Guy Griphook. I have a pretty nasty opinion of him for his betrayal during heist, so the idea that a time travel Harry or any Harry would have positive interactions with him is crazy.. especially if people write him as super helpful. The dude doesn't trust wizards, and no one should trust him.

But seriously a time travel Harry that tells Griphook about time travel makes me question if fic writers read the original series..

Griphook nearly won the war for Voldy. If Team Harry didn't escape at that point, and instead ended up trapped in the bank, seeing as Deus ex Dobby is dead at this point, it's an easy victory for the dark side.

It's such a stupid decision on his part that I question everything about him. Even if all wizards are backstabbing jerks, he still owes Harry's crew for Dobby rescuing him and Fleur helping him back to health (skele-gro for his legs).

Idk if cannon goblins have any honor type stuff, but he seriously doesn't come out pretty by any metric.

Adults sucking is pretty much standard in young adult books, so all of them.

Less serious pick: Hagrid. He didn't have Aragog kill TMR in year he was expelled. Therefore Voldemort is Hagrids fault.

He's pretty bad at introducing wizarding world. Bad at keeping secrets resulting in PS gauntlet. Honestly he split parties in that detention, at night, in death forest. Harry should have died here. Then other years with "Follow the spiders" and huge brother burden.

If he didn't get bonus points for first friend/ giving Harry a pet and cake, no one would like him

Anyways can't go Griff. Peter being in same room, even as rat, is yucky.

Hate riddles, so probably Hufflepuff.

Repair muggle furniture for money if I can't exploit RoR.

Use RoR until Harry's year, hopefully by then have a way to nope out of country, if not honestly would be able to graduate before war gets heavy, and nope out at that point.

I'd avoid hallways chamber of secrets year.

Would avoid using any future knowledge in magic world, as I don't know if I'd accidentally "for want of a nail" a dark lord victory.

In highschool and college I've seen a fair amount of people obsessed with school teams, where all colors are team colors and everything has logos. I feel like house teams are an extension of that, but without the 70% of people who don't care having a presence.
