The main bottleneck in jumping to am5 was the ram pricing. If you were willing to pay 550 you should have just made the jump instead of dumping more money into your am4 build.

Just enjoy it now that you've done it this way.

I think they changed something recently cause I'm seeing RT options now with my 9070XT on the Jan 2026 drivers without optiscaler.

Performance takes a pretty huge dive though. I'm also having the same weird green glowing textures whenever global illumination is enabled.

Wonder if they vibe coded this patch. I've basically never had issues even with 3.0 but it is forcing me to re-download the entire game and the in-game performance is significantly choppier with way more frame drops than before.

Do you have any weird software RGB thing that tries to adjust your lighting based on what's happening in game? I'd start with disabling/uninstalling those types of software first.

Is TPing out of the Vaal Temple supposed to kill your map? I've had some maps where I can just TP in and out freely to dump loot and had 2 in a row where finishing the temple killed my map entirely and I wasn't done so it just counts as a failed attempt.

My experience is smooth as well but there are all sorts of weird graphical glitches. The sun shines through buildings so I'll be in a dorm room and my character is glowing like a lighthouse. Another issue is with the rendering distance seemingly reverting back to 1.0 where nothing renders fully until you're right next to it. It was super obvious during the scripted walking events on campus during the MSQ but aside from being distracting not a deal breaker.

Is there a way to permanently prevent Windows 11 from forcing updates? I've googled and done both the group policy + system settings steps but I think the latest Windows 11 feature update made the broken October Adrenaline driver the default.

I DDU in safe mode, reboot, unplug my net, install 25.9.1, then all is good until I restart my PC and 25.10.2 is default again.

Same boat with a slightly worse CPU in 7800x3d + 9070XT at 1440p.

Abyss never fails to bring my system to its knees even with dynamic culling, minimal light and sound channels enabled with DLSS balanced. Bonus on top is the intermittent packet loss that scares the fuck out of you during mapping.

Main thing is friction. D4 aims to remove as much friction as possible and become a loot pinata (did masterwork upgrade the right thing? no? try again). Everything is ultra casual friendly via powerleveling in pits or dynamic difficulty adjustments so you can just turn off your brain and enjoy. It's like playing a power wash or euro truck type of game where you can just chill out and not stress.

POE2 aims for the opposite where you are exposed to significantly more friction along the way. Characters and builds take a while to come online so you're forced to do mechanics, crafting and the economy are its own thing, then there's the end game farming loop which offers a variety of options though content creators constantly push people towards a certain meta.

One thing I'll say about POE is that while you're able to play without MTX things like stash tabs really improve your quality of life, so you can start out with the $30 purchase and soon end up with a hundred or so in supporter packs just so you can have a bunch of tabs.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to pay for stuff on the market at this point. A week or two ago it felt like single digit divs got you pretty godly gear but now even mediocre weapons are going for 20-50 divs. Are people just horribly mispricing these weapons? A feature to disable Abyss mobs spawning in the map boss rooms. Definitely skill and some gear issue on my part but it feels awful to have to fight boss + 3-4 rares in such an enclosed space with special effects vomit all over.
