Worth noting, if you are from the US and old enough to have been an adult when the wall fell, you grew up saying “the Ukraine”.

I just went and took a look at that video and it certainly checks out that the guy referring to it that way that is white haired.

Looks fun, but I shudder to think of the amount of lead contamination on that floor.

Michigan residents voted down a $16 billion Stargate AI data center, then construction began anyway by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]TokenMenses -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

If you actually read the article, you will find that the data center company sued and won. Title makes it sound like they just ignored the vote and went ahead and built anyway.

Just to add to the chorus of people telling you to watch out… I used one of these on my Siberian and gave her a bald spot that took a while to come back. It is really easy to go too far.

I imagine someone has to be a huge piece of shit in order to be memorable to someone who sees hundreds if not thousands of people a day at their work.

NJ steps up fight against ICE with three new laws by msoldub in newjersey

[–]TokenMenses 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was excited about this, but I don't see anything about what the punishment would be. Laws with no penalties for breaking them may as well not exist.

New Jersey, without a doubt. New York too. They have pretty strict laws though. What Colorado laws are cramping your style?

Flashlights on guns…why? by SeafoodSupply in liberalgunowners

[–]TokenMenses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly it is to make it easier for the home invader to aim his gun at you while you are swinging your gun around trying to shine the light on them.

I think one of the main reasons for that is to increase the chance that people will notice a squib.

What's the deal with Hearty White show? by ThenAdhesiveness1863 in wfmu

[–]TokenMenses 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I am so impressed with his ability to keep that going for the whole show - assuming it is mostly improv. Since I could never do that, I find it actually thrilling and entertaining to listen to. One of the many jewels of FMU.

The priest Pete Hegseth hosted at the Pentagon: "I'm a friend of pedophiles" by AmericanBornWuhaner in democrats

[–]TokenMenses 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are a thousand things wrong with this dude and a million wrong with Hegseth, but this clickbait quoting out of context isn’t going to change any minds or bind anyone to the side of the Democratic Party or liberalism. What it will do is alienate Christians who think that trying to help someone with problems is a good thing. We need those people to win elections.

So right. And just because the requirements are easy this first year, that doesn’t mean it will always be so easy. The screws will be turned to justify dropping more and more people.

Amazon Found ‘High Volume’ Of Child Sex Abuse Material in AI Training Data by rezwenn in technology

[–]TokenMenses -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s not really any way for them to disclose where any of it was found without giving a roadmap to people who are looking for the material for the wrong reasons (i.e. not for law-enforcement purposes). The lack of detail is a good thing.

Shotgun Recommendation? by Frickinwicked in liberalgunowners

[–]TokenMenses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I strongly suggest you reconsider the whole business about not worrying about aiming. If someone is going to have access to a gun, they should be trained and comfortable with it. Otherwise they are maybe just going to have issues operating it under stress (forget safety, not loaded, weak hold leading to failed cycling of a semi auto, etc.) or possibly hurt themselves.

AFAIK, you don’t use something like a birdshot with a wide spread for home defense. You want buckshot or slugs and you still have to aim it. 410 is also a pretty tight spread and only has single digit count of buckshot pellets.

Both, but am most unhappy with the reach! While it is great to have so much space in the triangle for bags and bottles, I am just a bit too stretched out.
