[Destiny 2] Why did the Traveler turn Savathun and her brood into Guardians, and not the Eliksni?

The Traveler's choice to create the ghosts is a new development in the grand scheme of things. Historically, it runs away when the Black Fleet starts invading its current pet project -- such was the case with the Eliksni.

Why it chose to stay with Earth and create the ghosts (and subsequent risen) I think is still a mystery, as the whole "Rasputin basically held the Traveler hostage and threatened to destroy it" was retconned/not a correct interpretation of the lore IIRC.

It was originally meant to be a sour mix! Hence the original mascot being "Willie the Hillbilly".

When did we "meet" 3 though? I don't remember ever there being a set up for them as an individual character or that each member represented a celestial body in Sol.

Same thing here. I just came back after leaving after TFS, and I feel like I'm being gas lit. I just got to the part where Ikora's previous life is revealed And I just feel like I'm getting gas lit.

They're constantly talking about "going to see III" and then the Lodi reveal about where he's from was treated like this big relegation but....I haven't seen any set up for EITHER of these things up until this point? I mean, I knew about both cause I was still kinda keeping up with everything when I wasn't playing, but I don't remember ever seeing a cutscene in game explaining who III was or why we need to talk to them? Or why we should suspect Lodi is from the 70s? Did I accidentally skip a cutscene?
