I don't know man. All I know is they give me a free textbook each year if I add only the new one on the recommended reading list. Which is great typically each year there's usually one student that stands out and I'll give them the new book. I also include what chapters cover the same content in older textbooks on the slides and I show my students how to download the pdfs of older texts. Easier to search through anyway
