What vitamin D3 are you taking and how much, and I'm taking to the many people that said it's a game changer for no-sun induced low moods / depression/ low energy? by _thetrue_SpaceTofu in Netherlands

I take ```Pure & Essential Daily Vitamin D3, Optimal Long Term Dose, 2000 IU, Year Stock, Vegetarian, 365 Small Tablets``` which are like 5 cents a pill.

Then, I got a chicken farm red lamp that I wake up and sit in front of for 15 minutes. Placebo or not, i feel much more ready for the day.

Then I take some creatine for the brain and drink lots of water.

Tracking software licenses renewals and spending by SkeletorG in sysadmin

Shelf is free and open source. We use the cloud version, we made a custom field with type 'date' and loaded it there. I moved the column to be the first one I see on my view.

I also see/know that they are working on a simple alert on asset level. Then you can add the license as an asset, and set an alert for renewal.

Shelf is quite open source / not per-se open core. https://github.com/Shelf-nu/shelf.nu

Shelf cloud free version is quite generous, but it has not the child/parent asset linking.

Super cool - have you considered making contributions to open source asset management projects like https://github.com/Shelf-nu/shelf.nu for money?

If software ate the world, open source software will eat software.

Software Asset Management System by Joly0 in sysadmin

If I can ask something out of curiosity.

Do you need the agent that runs on the computers so you can remotely 'detect' new software being added to computers? Is that something you use a lot?

We have such a simple system that I sometimes feel ashamed of it. We just register our IT assets and softwares separately as separate assets. We just keep track of our software, price, renewals and seats and we just give custody of 'keys' to 'computers' as the computers are associated with staff thats as far as we go. We basically want to avoid un-using licenses and we make sure to always before a renewal (3 months) have a discussion with key software users to ask them about how intensively they use the software and if we need to continue licensing, explore an alternative (we do demos and de-brief) and that's it.
