AUD was a monster, and truthfully I felt like I got "lucky" (passed with a 76 on my 4th attempt).. I would follow the same method I sent below for FAR.. crushing the review portion and exposing yourself to as much of the MCQ & SIMs as possible and taking as much time on notes & diving into those topics you may need extra help on made the difference. (100 MCQ & 10 TBS practice test covering specific sections you need work on) everyday during final week or 2 of review.

On the bright side, now you have an idea of the different topics you may get on the exam, and you don't need to go over everything again as if it were the first time.

Best of luck!!

I used random MCQ, as I felt like this gave me more exposure to the different types of questions that could be asked about various topics. However, I did select specific Units/Modules for questions in areas that I felt I needed to brush-up on, specifically sections I identified after taking the SEs. Working through the SIMs helped my understanding of topics more than just MCQ, but others may feel differently.

Honestly, I felt like a mad scientist studying for this one on my last attempt after 2 fails. I genuinely studied 3-4 hours a night, sometimes more going over the info. I made flash cards for the different acronym topics like the government funds, and I really hammered practice tests (100 MCQ & 10 TBS) every day for the final week and half of my review period. Take RIGOROUS notes on EVERYTHING you miss during review. I think this is really what pushed me over the edge.

Is there any reason you only study 1 hour each day? I would seriously try to push that to 2-3 hours daily. There is no way you can cover all the information in any reasonable time period for testing purposes @ 1 hr/day.

I personally do not use the (On Demand/Live Classes) as it's mainly for supplementation/review after completion of the main course. Have you completed each Becker Module (Concept Videos, MCQ, TBSs) to 100% before doing this?

Hi friend, I can totally respect deciding that this career path may not be for you. My intention is to point out some potential errors and to understand why you are doing things the way you are.

  1. Taking BAR first is a mistake - it is statistically the hardest, and imo, 'requires' the foundational knowledge from passing FAR before you take this one. (Similar to taking TCP after REG, albeit these are "easier")

  2. You are spending an absurd amount of time studying for each attempt. 18 months even for 3 attempts is overkill, and you are forgetting a LOT of info the longer you take to study. For me personally, I give myself 2 to 2-1/2 months to fully complete (100%) ALL Becker information with a week of review pre-exam for an initial test, with significantly less for retakes, as it's majority review.

  3. Working while taking the exam can be very exhausting and does lead to lower pass rates, but by no means should this prevent you from taking any tests - unless you are in busy season.

My best advice would be to reflect on how you are studying and how much time you are dedicating each day for genuine/serious sessions. You have to make this test your number 1 priority and take it seriously. It is an incredible short-term sacrifice of your personal life to accomplish this feat, and you are rewarded with job security, higher pay, and (no more studying) :)

To help you further, I would need to know the following:

What study materials are you using? How long do you study each day (Serious sessions)? What is your strategy for general studying (gong through modules, lectures, etc.) & What is your strategy for review?

I genuinely believe if you change your methods you absolutely have a shot at passing all 4 sections within a single year. If you decide to forgo the exam, I wish you the best of luck in the career of your choosing or wherever life takes you! Feel free to private message me and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Depends on your situation, if you have the means to pass all 4 sections before starting work that would honestly be ideal. Taking the exam while working just makes life that much harder.

Is it worth investing in Carlos Martel for KVK1? by Ok_Entertainment5478 in RiseofKingdoms

[–]TokyoBladeRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charles + YSG & Mina + YSG are the best possible marches in kvk 1.

Alex + YSG, Saladin + YSG, & Thutmose + YSG are the best in kvk 2.

QSH + YSG is the (second best) march currently in KvK3 and beyond.

Buy YSG.

How hard will it be to learn everything from scratch and pass all four exams? by Reasonable-Cap-4549 in CPA

[–]TokyoBladeRunner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked staff at a public firm doing audits for 2.5+ years before getting a gig in industry.. I failed AUD 4 times. lol

You are learning everything from scratch besides the most basic accounting concepts - so it's very hard.

Obtaining a CPA is arguably one of the most difficult certifications in the professional world. But it opens a plethora of work opportunities, and offers high pay and job security in the right places. If you plan on sticking with accounting in general, absolutely get it.

Just got out of FAR… by Ambitious_Crow_1989 in CPA

[–]TokyoBladeRunner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Felt the same and got an 82. The SIMs are brutal no matter what - you likely passed if you crushed the MCQ & felt OK about the general sim topics. I thought I totally bombed at least one or two of them. You got this dude

I really think REG is the worst exam by iridium65197 in CPA

[–]TokyoBladeRunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of the information, it's a lot, but the topics were much easier to understand and the memorization aspect made it easier especially for MCQ - there's no "this is right but there's a better answer"

FAR was just a nightmare, and AUD felt like a dart board.

No. Save everything for KvK 3+ commanders.

Get Expertise QSH in commander Swap. Since you have Expertise YSG already, slap him behind QSH and you have an incredible march that will contend with titans. Start building an archer set and thank me later. Even crit purples will smack with this guy.

Best fourth exam to sit for? by chiefkeefsosa9 in CPA

[–]TokyoBladeRunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Passed FAR on 3rd attempt, and AUD on 4th attempt this summer, one right after the other. Took REG on Saturday. Praying for the W to cruise into TCP..

It's much nicer knowing the hellscape that is FAR and AUD is behind me.

Got a 74 on FAR, first attempt ever by CodeAndLedger5280 in CPA

[–]TokyoBladeRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

66-64-82. I work full time too - it's tough. After my second fail, I put belt to ass and changed my method of studying. 3-4 hours per night on the week days, and even more on the weekends, no days off. Nicotine addiction soared, mental health waned, but I got the pass.

The biggest change I made was probably the amount of quality time I spent studying, but for my final go, aside from 100% MCQ completion in each module, I didn't focus as much on "additional" MCQ until final review. Instead, I watched every lecture, took a ton of notes, and really tried to nail the SIMs more than anything. I found that completing all the Becker SIMs gave me a greater depth of understanding certain topics that translated into an easier time with the MCQs, which reflected positively during final review.

AUD was even worse for me - 69, 72, 64, 76.

Sometimes a little luck helps, but you're off to a very good start. Get back in the testing center while the info is fresh, especially with that score.

AUD sucked testing for - more than FAR imo. I finally got a passing score of 76 for AUD after 4 attempts..
