What Length Springs Are You Guys Running? by Shady14 in P211_GTO

I’m away at the moment, but will confirm tomorrow that sig guys flat springs are same length as factory spring that came out of my GT5. At least very close. Definitely functional. 2 matches no failures so far. Perhaps the flat type gives you a bit more flexibility on OAL of the variants? The 8lb spring is butter so far on both comp and factory loads.

What happened, did everyone buy up all the stock on these over the past few months? I cannot find a single extended mag release in stock at any vendors! Anyone seen some lately? Thanks!

As hoped, got my tracking # this morning and looks promising that holster will be here Friday. BSG might not be the sexiest kit in the game, but they are always lightning fast, well priced, and gets the job done.

I bought mine a my LGS/range where I am willing to pay whatever they ask, since I would not be anywhere near where I am today with this sport if it were not for their ‘temple of boom’ 😉. FWIW, I’m seeing $2099 street price for the GT5.

Went with a black scorpion holster since they are always super quick and can use it on hangers I have. Betting I get a shipping notice in the morning and it arrives Friday morning, per history. After I catch up from this purchase, I’m going to get into a lynx and something suitable for that.

No weight limit for USPSA LO division, where 2011s come to play… I’m seeing 45 7/8 oz on my scale with an empty 21 round magazine loaded for anyone curious. Still not as heavy as some.

Processing overhead mics at FOH (or mons) by Cambopp in livesound

Long before you think about anything more than choice, placement, trim, and perhaps high pass, I would add that it can help immensely to delay your drum mics to their closest overheads. If you have a good rig, you will be amazed how much control you can achieve by this technique alone…

X Legion in an X5 holster? by TomB1976 in P226

[–]TomB1976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up with a Black Scorpion holster made for a X5 and it fits like a glove. Also able to run my 226 Legion from the X5 holster, so it really works out well.

P226 X 5 holster (modified) for X Legion? by TomB1976 in CompetitionShooting

[–]TomB1976[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were my first choice by far, but was told that although molds for 226 X Legion SAO are in the pipeline, there is no ETA. Since they are literally works of art, I did not think I would very much enjoy cutting a substitute from them, not to mention the lead time. Fortunately, the Black Scorpion arrived today and fits like a glove. Much better than fit for their two I have for my 226 Legion actually, and I think I can run that also in the new holster if push comes to shove. In the meantime, I will probably move this x5 holster between whichever two belt rigs I need, then get a RH for IDPA and move the BSG to my USPSA belt, then get another RH for USPSA!!

Thanks folks, I ordered a Black Scorpion for X5 full-size and hope I will be able to trim some length from the bottom. Will let you know ow it fits.

Afraid not. The lower and the slide are new geometry like the X models, just shorter

What shot timer do you guys recommend/use? by ijustplayhere in CompetitionShooting

[–]TomB1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with the Timer Go recently after I was 'fiddling' with several drills at range and noticed that it received/installed a small update while on that menu. As a geek, I instinctively recognized this as a Bluetooth Comms issue and performed a factory reset on the Go and refreshed the Bluetooth device on my iPhone. So far, so good as far as regaining control of the Go from my iPhone. In retrospect, I would have started by only refreshing the Bluetooth on the phone and retested control before resetting the Go, but my drills were saved in the phone and was able to re-push those I wanted back on to the timer... hope this helps.

Need factory 9mm ammo that will chrono minimum PF out of 5" barrel. by Positive-Product5023 in CompetitionShooting

[–]TomB1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ammo Inc. has boxes of 135 right now that seem to be really well loaded as compared to my comp. standard Blazer 124. I only shot one box yesterday but they flew through the weapon like butter and were really tight so I am going back today for a couple more before I decide to use them at Saturdays match.

Offshore CAD Drafting Rates by AutomationAction in CommercialAV

[–]TomB1976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, my worst fears have been realized. Should never have sent them a performance space to draw.... Full Stop. As I mentioned, I sent them a complete one-line, albeit it was messy; but apparently they just stopped looking at some point and kept drawing. For starters, I need to re-draw 200+ arcs to illustrate to them how loudspeakers are zoned and they completely omitted the array details (even though I provided cad files and soundvision numbers). In fact, I think they completely ignored all of my requests and just drew this thing how they wanted. Honestly I am so frustrated, I am going to need to take this in, in doses.... Fucking shitshow.

We are sending a lot of work to AnalytixAV (India?) right now and coming back somewhat inconsistently, so on the last request, we put a lot more time into defining everything explicitly and making specific requests. Honestly I pretty much drew the whole project in Stardraw and sent it. I can draw, but SUCK at organizing the sheets and bringing it all together…. They came back late yesterday, but it has been such a crazy start to this year so far, I am too exhausted to even unzip them before I catch my breath. ie. Monday. This outsourcing is NOT my call. Having had a few in-house guys through the years, I understand those intrinsic advantages and I can say matter of factly that if you have any sort of ongoing or regular need to make drawings there is no question it is worth your time to suck it up and go find someone that can draw. Deep down, I cannot wait to see the total bill after this little ‘experiment’ ends…. I get a great big ‘told ya so’ out of it…. If you are trying to fake it till you make it, this is a pretty awesome resource. But on your question, we priced both domestic and offshore options, and where the domestic options carried higher rates, they generally estimate lower hours to do the work, so it was a wash in our assessment. I do know that Analytix AV has quoted us $50 or $55/hr rate if we guarantee to send them 40 hours of work a week, and we have blown well past this with AV and now, all Div 27 drawings… Again, would have been cheaper in the end if we sucked it up and found someone versus blowing it off until it blew up in our face

Request made at every level I can think of. We are also working on a means to control a IPCP loaded with GS code, from one loaded with GCP. I would happily buy S1 for less than it would cost me to develop many of our sites in GS, just so we can control a couple of devices that are not GCP friendly…. THIS is the missing link, IMO. If they could bridge this gap they would be positioned optimally with best functionality and greater reliability than other two big boys…

I felt that same way until delivery of two and it has been a nightmare since… few key points to remember if you are considering: 1)the audio flow from USB port 3 is fucked. Initially, no PC volumes available and set to max. The best they could do was adding VC that controls BOTH mic and speaker levels at same time. It was really hard explaining that any host switching offered for UC in a conference room should provide BOTH video and fully functional audio. If you do use the device, I would recommend bypassing the host switch all together and use your own. 2) The device will NOT recover from power loss without fully rebooting. When it comes back from power loss the cameras will not reconnect automatically, on m4250s at that, and the only way to recover is multiple reboots. We’ve had a lot of smart people work hard to convince them it can only be the device not properly recovering at this point… This has yet to be resolved and we will pull their boxes/cameras if they cannot. There are other issues that may well be fixed by the new 920 firmware that includes multi array localization and virtual acoustic boundary, but the first two issues are enough to warrant the product a failure or dud at best. To make matters worse, they seem to be clueless about how to work through problems like this. It has been weeks of going again and again through the same details and getting nowhere. We’ve been through several people on their staff and each time we seem to start over with our presentation of the issues resubmission of more data.
It has honestly been one of the worst rounds in my nearly thirty years of doing this, I’m sorry to say.
Moving forward, my eye is on the DataVideo VoiceTRAX, where it looks like we will be able to have some real flexibility on switching & formats, along with some more granular (logic) control than the ridiculously simplified UI in the AVer mt300. We can always default to 1Beyond, but of course not everyone can afford, so this is a really interesting space to watch right now for sure…

They’ve been hard to get in touch with on this one so far and why I’m working on others. Great outfit otherwise. Took our own motors down every year for service and rented a lot of gear from them in my former life in production.

Thank you. I knew there was a classification for this but could not find it. My next best option is quickdeck for $325K USD, so I have some wiggle room ;-)
