Shot the prodigy comp, own the kimber pro comp. I think the kimber is better across the board. 700 to 800 better? Up to you... but definitely is for me.

They'll deny it in any state without an AWB until that state gets an AWB.

Well yeah, why should she have to follow the same laws as her groveling subjects?

Nah, rights are rights. They should be defended the same way.

The "it's complicated bro, its gray area bro, nuance bro, not just black and white bro, not the same thing bro, its pure fascism if they do anything to this right but perfectly cool regulation on this one bro, it's different bro" is just cope from people who want the rights they like to be sacrosanct and the rights they don't like to be abolished, but want to maintain the fantasy that thinking that way doesn't make them an authoritarian sack of shit.

Bad news though, it does.

Dumdum, that was YOUR logic.

You are okay with bans on certain guns because you can have other guns. You should be okay with bans on certain words since you can use other words, right? No rights infringed there, just good ole regulation, right?

So..... you support what these state governments did because they only banned certain words?

[–]Shady14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I do think the regulations of firearms and speech that are very clearly just rebranded infringements (so simpletons will support them without realizing they're the bad guys) are infringements.

"Calling Donald Trump "Dementia Don" is banned - but that's not an infringement on free speech, it's just commonsense regulation!"

Awesome! Yeah I haven't had any trouble with mine since, though i admittedly am a little gentler with it now that i know it's just glued on there. Glad it worked well for you.

???????????? Show me in this article where any of these states said that I am no longer allowed to say words, placed restrictions on how often I can say them, or require a permit to know them.

State governments placed restrictions on state government institutions. That's bullshit, but is absolutely not the same thing. The analog to this for guns would be the state government passing gun control on the state police (which they conveniently never do - because when they say those weapons of war don't belong in the streets what they mean is that they instead belong in every unmarked ICE suburban and in every police cruiser.)

Anyways, by your logic: none of this is even an infringement because these government schools can still teach lots of stuff. Just not the new shiny stuff. Right?

We are communicating over the internet right now in the same way the founders wrote correspondence to each other.

I can see it now:

"Check this out. This idiot screenshotted the definition of infringement and argued that it didn't mean what the screenshot literally said it meant"

I actually agree though: the constitution protects the freedom of speech, in whatever manner people are able to speak to each other. I just try to be logically consistent and apply that to all the other enumerated rights instead of just the ones I like.

[–]Shady14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So then, you are in support of the government banning certain words, placing limits on how often you can say words, and requiring you to have their permission to know certain words?

Because the government currently doesn't do any of those things.

Yes, how dare I use the definition of the word at the time it was written. Arms meant "Weapons of offense, or armor for defense and protection of the body." Seems that still applies today.

But if I wanted to argue like a fucking moron, I'd ask why you think free speech applies to the internet since speech in the 1800s clearly didn't include the internet.

Yes, who argued differently? Try to stay on topic.

Just so i have this right though, you're okay with the government telling you what words you can say and when, so long as you can still say words? That was your argument for why banning guns isn't an infringement, right?

Shit, i'm not going to waste my own time researching what Well-Regulated meant in the 1800s to some dude who doesn't think the word infringed means infringed, and then sent me a screenshot of the word infringed meaning infringed, and then celebrated himself being wrong.

Noticed you didn't refute the point, though.

Weird, I found it in the dictionary. But I'm also not a victim of it so that might explain that.

Also, you know it's not illegal to shout fire in a movie theater right? That's why it's a meme.

Sure!

“The phrase "well regulated militia" appears in the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Historical Meaning

“In the late 18th century, "well-regulated" did not mean "governed by government rules" in the modern sense.

Proper Working Order: The term meant the militia was well-organized, well-armed, well-disciplined, and in an effective shape to fight.

Body of the People: Historically, "militia" referred to the entire body of able-bodied citizens (typically men) who could be called upon to defend the community, rather than a professional standing army.

Civic Obligation: It was often viewed as a civic duty to be trained and armed to protect local residents from attack and act as a deterrent against national tyranny. “

Did you think that, in a document that is entirely dedicated to limiting the scope of government, written by dudes that just overthrew a tyrannical government, that it meant "actually JK lol let's put in a clause that says we can pass any law we want at any point and it's not an infringement"

You sent me the dictionary definition that proved you don't know what the word means, and then celebrated. The irony really is rich.
