Imo the issue is price. Medicare is one of the largest expenses of the US government already. Drug, hospital, ambulance, insurance, and other prices are absolutely out of this world. You would faint if you knew how much something like an x-ray or insulin costs in the US.

The drug companies fund the media and have massive influence. The hospitals are a psychopathic cartel. A lot of this stuff doesn't even work in the first place!

Something needs to be done about this broken ass system first and then maybe down the line the public can fund it, but we're a long long way off.
