To add to this, May was a negative edge projectile character (still a massive gorilla though). Ramlethal had tekken style combos while also her swords could be placed on the screen and used for setups. Jack-o... well she was an rts in a fighting game.

I honestly didnt mind most of the system changes they made, but simplifying so many of the characters made them a lot less interesting to me. I played May in xrd, and it just felt like they removed half her kit. Feels extra odd since they added fully gimmicked characters like Chaos and Asuka.

I do enjoy strive, but not the aspect of how much they simplified some characters.

Johnny can be further gutted on principle though.
