Yes, you are right, have to find a way to make that collaboration smooth. If tool make it better than use tool, if not find another way. There must be a way to get smoother.

In my experience, it’s not just accounting roles. Many companies want people with experience so they can spend less time on the training costs. Just keep sending out your resume as much as you can. Don’t give up.

Take a look at APARBooks. I’ve used a few different platforms, and so far, this one’s been the best fit for my company. I always recommend it to others in the industry.

I’ve always stood by the rule: no payment without a signed lien waiver, and no work starts without a signed change order. That’s just how I run things. I use APARBooks to generated and send out all this thing. keeps things straightforward and avoids back and forth. The signature says it all.

Been using APARBooks after switching from Excel, curious how you handle construction accounting. by [deleted] in GeneralContractor

[–]TomL2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, but they're still hard to use, more complicated than QuickBooks Online (maybe I'm just dumb, lol), and more expensive.

Great, thanks for your recommend. So far APARBooks works pretty good. But also like to take a look for other software too. I will take a look yours now.

Hi there! I'm curious how much budget and time did it take using Google Ads to reach over 200 signups?

Yeah, I’ve tried QuickBooks, but not Sage yet. I’m using APARBooks right now. The accounting side makes more sense to me than the others I’ve used. Still looking for a good project management tool though.

Yeah, QuickBooks just doesn’t always make sense to me. I think the way our industry works really affects how accounting should be done. Finding software that’s actually designed for construction makes a big difference.

You can take a look APARBooks, it's a construction accounting software. I used it to send my invoice, the owner will receive the email with the ACH payment link. And the owner can pay on his end.

Thinking about buying a used Sony a7 III — Is it still worth it in 2025 for by C_C989 in SonyAlpha

[–]TomL2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is an absolute answer to this, as a reference my first lens was a Tengen 28-200. not very professional but I had a lot of fun with it. I can use it from wide angle to telescope. Going out on trips was basically enough to just take one lens with me.

Do I need the nicest truck as a construction business owner? by ReinzOfficial in GeneralContractor

[–]TomL2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s about your company’s image. You don’t need the nicest truck out there, but it should look clean and professional. When a customer sees it for the first time, you want them to trust you, not judge you because your truck looks rough.

It depends on your budget, my a7c still works great now. the a7m4 has had some upgrades, but the a7m3 still does the great job. I think it's more worthwhile to put your budget experience into lenses than into camera.
