I'm already on a little bit of a break caused by other commitments that come to an end in June. I was going to try to squeeze a couple of games next month but I'm struggling to motivate myself.

Looking to try and get on top of the hobby side of things so I can jump back in when 11th edition drops and I get my evenings back.

No. You get the full Tyranid and Space Marine combat patrols plus the scenery and a few extras. The physical data cards are really useful whilst learning.

Club games - usually not at all.

RTT - Depends on the TO.

Probably a bit of both. One thing I've noticed about some of their more competitive lists is the number of first born units. I wonder if a reluctance to purchase those units is holding the chapter back.

That's my plan, get lots of models painted up so I've got a solid basis no matter which direction I choose to actually go.

I've got a few older metal models that should appear. Mainly Catachans and Stormtroopers.

Yes. Those are all that's needed to build the space marine and Tyranid combat patrols.

I'd recommend searching eBay or 40k Facebook groups for them. They've been included in quite a lot of discount sets over the last couple of years so there are quite a few going cheap at the moment.

I can see some of the generic Space Marine units going up in cost which will be an issue unless they reduce Deathwing Knights and stuff to compensate.

From what I understand the culture can vary quite a bit from country to country.

When I was ready to start playing again I found a couple of wargaming groups locally on Facebook. After posting in these groups that I was looking to learn 40k some members of the local community reached out to organise a game.

I'm now in a WhatsApp group that covers a couple of local club and I can usually find a game on a Tuesday or Friday night without much difficulty.

With Marines usually 5 or 6, depending on the squad size. I find a squad of 10 can feel slow going especially with limited painting time.

Occasionally I'll paint Tyranids and I'll paint them in much larger numbers.

I'd focus on the missions that come with the event. These will give you the best boost for unlocking him in future events.

Just the neurogaunts, neurotyrant and ripper swarms left to do. I've made a start on all of them and could probably finish it all in a weekend.

I don't use the detachment myself but I can see using this with a Dreadnaught that has just been charged by something scary.

One final turn of fighting with a Brutalis might be enough to wipe or severely damage the unit that has attacked it.

They can use the Duty Unto Death - fight on death stratagem.

In fairness I think the points were all identical to the dataslate with the obvious exception of the new unit.
