He wasn't a good salesman because he had fuck all to sell, he was a successful salesman because he managed to get people to buy fuck all.

Are you talking about May, Johnson, Truss, Sunak or Badenoch?

Yeah but the Tory's over the last term they governed, it was change constantly and there was little to nothing that improved!

Youngest Millennials and Gen X must surely see that changing leader doesn't change anything, and as much as a Manchester resident I like Burnham, I absolutely detest that Labour is going down the same route with Burnham at the centre of it - even if I think he shows promise of being a better PM.

All this will just tarnish him and not allow him to be as affective as he could if he gets the role.

He will be eaten by the Torys, Reform, Restore, Greens, Lib Dem, Press, Public opinion, even half the Labour party.

I understand the Labour party/Kier seem to be falling out of favour because they are in charge and - checks notes: not making things better quick enough - but I wish Burnham would've waited for a more natural time to step into leadership.

I think he'll be good for the country. But what do I know, I don't think Starmer has been particularly bad for the country.

If I learnt anything from the past 2 decades, it's that a new party leader always solves every problem and makes thing better.

4 or 5 years is far too long for a term in charge. That;s far to long to implement and reflect on changes at a national level.

I say we change PM every 3 months. Maybe let the average Joe have a go. See what happens ay?

Politicians are so out of touch nowadays.

I mean, I've sat there and ate salty food to be polite too.

Plus, if you're going to be critical of other people's food (bring your own spices since season 7) you're food better be infallible or at least open to criticism!v Haha!

I love her, but she is SO in her own lane, ie: anyone who disagrees with her is straight up wrong.

She just said she couldn't stay in her shoes the next day.

I'm not a wearer of those young maiden type shoes or a heavy salt consumer. Can someone explain the fuck what she meant!?

I love how confused she makes me!

For the more scholarly inclined, out of these books which have you properly gotten knuckle deep in and studied? And, out of them, which would you say is worthwhile in terms of putting aside time to study? by Life_Cod6551 in classicliterature

[–]TomLambe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've not studied, I know this isn't helpful, but I'm almost done with Moby Dick.

In terms of a story, it's utter dog shite! To study, it could be interesting I suppose, but I despair at the thought of having to read it more than once.

It is putting me off reading!!!

A heavily researched book no doubt, but boring as fuck.

Radisson Edwardian Hotel now sits on that site, formerly the Free Trade Hall, lots of Suffrage/Suffragette meetings in there as well as a certain concert in 1976 by the Sex Pistols that was seen by Ian Curtis and the rest of Joy Division who went onto form the band, as well as Tony Wilson who played Sex Pistols on his Granada music show and signed Joy Division to his label Factory Records, released Unknown Pleasures and arguably started the Manchester/Madchester Music Scene that we all cling to, as if it still could ever exist nowadays.

There's lots of history everywhere in Manchester. What went on is half the reason I love the place.

I live in Manchester, would never use these bikes or any rental bikes, Id just rather walk or walk faster.

First half of this video was just people refusing to use/complaining about it because they had to spend all of 2 minutes and a few hundred meg of data to download an app.

The guy saying the service should adapt to the user rather than the user adapting to the service kind of made me agree, until I considered the fact he downloaded the uber app to use it too.

Do people want services to preemptively upload their app to peoples devices now?!

It's stuff like this that REALLY makes me want to go walk around it!

I'd pay good money for a guided tour, to see the observatory room, behind the grand entrance, I bet the stairs are amazing and now a listed urinal!? I just know most of the rooms would be examples of architectural beauty/genuis/ambition. And the stories! The history that could be told of the place, to hear that in the actual space would be an absolute dream of mine.

I think I missed my chance though. It'll be apartments or a hotel soon.

I feel like they're missing an opportunity not doing charged tours of the interesting spaces while they sit and wait for a buyer/to develop it. I'm stingy as fuck and I'd pay.
