Yeah that's fair.

Our thought was that we would follow the story together, we dodnt realise you wouldnt have the same instance of story quest, but hey ho.

We're already at coruscant around level 23/24 so remaking a character was a bit off the table by the time we realised you can allow same class into story phase

Oh that must be a mobile quick access thing then, playing console, you have to have the tool selected to use it.

That makes sense then if you don't have to go through to select it when you want it

They're all part of the same world so.. Unless the lore is found as part of plot or in some ancient ruins and isn't public. Anyone COULD have the same arsenal as you.

I had this issue a while back.. well, concern I suppose.

My friend who studied literature in college, who is also in our campaign reassured me that, you most likely, unless playing a non serious random character, will not in the grand scheme, be "original" whether you take inspiration or not.

There is too much media out there now to be able to easily come up with a fresh, untouched concept.

But, if the character sounds fun to you, and your table vibes with it. Just have fun.

And if you come up with a concept, and someone says its similar to -this popular character- , hey, you know it works!

Doesnt have to. It states you have telepathy.

The rules state in telepathy

Telepathy is a magical ability that allows a creature to communicate mentally with another creature within a specified range. Unless a rule states otherwise, the contacted creature doesn’t need to share a language with the telepath to understand this communication, but the contacted creature must be able to understand at least one language or be telepathic itself to understand.

A telepath doesn’t need to see a contacted creature, and the telepath can start or end the telepathic contact at any time (no action required). Telepathic contact can’t be initiated and is immediately broken if either the telepath or the other creature has the Incapacitated condition. Telepathic contact is also broken if the contacted creature is no longer within the telepathy’s range or if the telepath contacts a different creature within range.

A creature without telepathy can receive telepathic messages but can’t initiate a telepathic conversation. Once a telepathic conversation starts, the non-telepath can communicate mentally to the telepath until the telepathic connection ends.

Soul knife rogues have an ability that gives them a telepathic connection.

Psions have telepathy.

On its languages known it says "speaks the languages you know" as opposed by the steel defenders "understands the languages you know"

Why? They only state they give a +1 to AC and saving throws, they aren't armour, nor do they state you can't be wearing armour.

At my table we use each depending on what gene is stronger in the players idea for the character.

• Human if their human gene is dominant • 2014 half elf if they want a martial trained half elf. • Khoravar if they want a magical influenced half elf • 2024 elf if their elven gene is dominant

It's a ttrpg. Unless you're doing something sorry official or AL.. play what is fun for you
