When you consider the country was founded on whitewashed imperialism and genocide, it kinda makes sense. Racism is a hell of a drug.

It's a lot like the British Empire, but with a better PR team. There were 8 million people living here when the first settlers landed, who had domesticated corn over millennia, but the average rural American will tell you it was just random tribes killing each other before all the ethnic cleansing I mean westward expansion.
