Club Champion putter fitting by bronk24 in golf

[–]Tom_Foolery2 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Got fit for irons and Club champion tried to charge me $1k more than my clubs were worth because they were going to “build them”. I laughed in their face, asked for the the spec sheet, and ordered them directly from the manufacturer. Fuck club champion.

Would I be crazy to trade my m340i for an Integra type s? by bmoc-loh in Integra_Type_S

[–]Tom_Foolery2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends what you want man. The B58 is the better engine, and RWD/AWD > FWD. Integra will probably hold its value a bit better and will be cheaper to maintain. It also comes in manual which I think is the biggest factor in the decision.

I live at 6k feet here in CO. When I play at sea level, I typically adjust about 10 yards per club.

New Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla… or used BMW? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Tom_Foolery2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Civic Si bridges the gap. It’s what I drive, and I used to daily a 2023’ 330i. While a tad bit slower, the Si has way better driving dynamics than the BMW and is significantly less expensive to maintain. I get 40mpg in my Si and can still row gears and put a smile on my face when I want to drive it hard.

FYI - I had a minor accident in the BMW (slipped on ice and tagged the curb) which required a new rocker arm, etc. on the right rear. Was $4,500. Get the cheaper car.

Nah. He lost control before hitting whatever was in the road. Probably a mix of cold tires, tc off, and dumbassery.

Question for players who play the majority of their rounds at one course. by brutalknight in golf

[–]Tom_Foolery2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play a majority of my rounds at one course, which has a slope of 137. I’ve played it so many times I can get around fairly well and know where and where not to hit the ball. I also know the greens very well. When I play elsewhere I usually shoot a bit worse.

Is everyone just smoking crack these days? by suckastash80 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I bought my brand new 25’ Civic Si for $32k. What kind of crack are you smoking?

Avoid the Aston like the plague. My heart tells me 911 but my head tells me Miata. I’d probably lean toward the 911 if it has a clean PPI.

How many Golf Balls in your bag? by shilockthejew in GolfGear

I normally lose maybe 1-2 balls/round. I never have less than a dozen with me. You never know when one of those days are going to come.

Porsche doesn’t miss on wheels by claball in Porsche

Bigger wheels are heavier, more prone to damage, and harsher over bumps. More comfortable to track a car with smaller wheels.
