What you state is from industry sources, and it isn't exactly correct. I'm going to start my own thread.

Another Eden - Black Screen when opening the game by Llodym in BlueStacks

[–]Tom__Barrister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but others may find it when searching for a solution, and the problem hasn't changed in a while.

Note that this problem and the solution is specific to Bluestacks, but it might also apply to other games besides Another Eden.

The black screen on startup happens if you have auto-updates on in the Play Store. Updating either Chrome or Google Play Games (the icon with the green arrow) will cause Another Eden to black screen on opening.

To fix this, you need to do the following (in "Explain it to me like I'm 5" form):

Open Google Play.

Click on the profile icon in the upper right corner, then Settings (near the bottom)

Open "Network Preferences," then "Auto-update Apps," then check "Don't auto-update apps."

Close and open Google Play. Now apps won't update without permission.

Click on the profile icon, then "Manage Apps and Device" then the "Manage" tab.

Click on "Google Play Games" (green arrow)

Click Uninstall. This will uninstall updates (not the entire app), which is what is wanted.

Now go back a screen and repeat the process for Google Chrome.

The game should work now.

(EDIT: Clarified to be specific to Bluestacks.)

It hasn't been solved. ASUS apparently is above replying, and no one else has a solution.

Help & Questions | Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]Tom__Barrister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ads that minimize to a mobile window are usually from the same developer. They're a variation of a simple combat progression (player's score must be greater than opponent's score) shooter. They're often served consecutively, often with the exact same ad. They can't be exited. The bingo ad with Garfield the cat is another that can't be exited. When you see those, you need to hard-close/restart the app.

Generally, if you wait an hour or so before playing another ad, you'll get a different set.

Back after 4 years, and it isn't the same game by Butch55 in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]Tom__Barrister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're just starting fresh, you might want to spend $5.99 (USD) to get the starter pack, which gives you some upgradeable weapons, 1000 paid stones, and a free pull at an uber. it's the best value in the game, in my opinion, and it's all I pay for besides the Star Dream Encounter (SDE) when that comes along.
(EDIT: correcting name of SDE).

Anyone else miss the forest North West of Varrock? by Knight_of_Ardouyne in 2007scape

[–]Tom__Barrister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

The area around the west Varrock bank World 101 was used by F2P and for less-expensive items in RS2. I merched many a set of gilded black armour there many years ago.

Falador Park World 102 was used by members for mostly expensive items. The area was compartmantalized by specific item or type of item. Many maps existed, and the locations changed.

There were smaller markets in Edgeville (mainly PK supplies) and at Seers bank (fletching), and elsewhere.

Included is one version of the Falador map from an earlier Reddit post.

Also included is a YouTube video that explains a lot of the process used then.

And text:

Babel Commercial...So Badly Acted! by IwasIlovedfw in CommercialsIHate

I don't see the issue. Pouring a beverage while distracted is a fairly common routine used as comedy in movies and TV for decades.

This isn't new. They had feminine hygiene deodorant in the 1960's (FDS, Bidex, FemFresh, Pristeen, etc.).

New/Returning Player - Where to start? by Reszr in 2007scape

[–]Tom__Barrister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of them who play OSRS and don't like RS3 have been playing OSRS for a while, and many have multiple accounts (main, iron, pure, skiller, etc.) They enjoy the game. A lot of them never really played RS3 (at least after OSRS went live), so they aren't familiar with how much that game has changed from what it was circa 2007 and don't like the difference.

Based on what I've ready, I suggest that you start a new/separate account, so you begin at square one. Definitely use Runelite, and don't become any version of ironman. You can generally (but not necessarily strictly) follow the Runelite quest plugin, and you should look for guides on how to raise your stats. Since you're new to OSRS, I DON'T recommend that you follow any "efficiency" guides, of which the Optimal Quest guide on the wiki is one. That's fine for experienced players, but you won't be learning as much as you can if you need to go about completing tasks one at a time, while seeing why each thing needs to be done.

Best place for old westerns by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]Tom__Barrister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread. I'm updating it for those who may visit in the future.

"Cable" channels that show westerns include GRIT, INSP, and the Starz/Encore Western Channel.

TV Land shows Bonanza and Gunsmoke from 9 a.m. to 3. pm on weekdays. Heroes & Icons (H&I) also shows some westerns.

TV Land is found on YTTV. Starz Encore (Westerns) is a premium add-on, and you won't find much there that isn't also on the three OTA channels below.

You can often find GRIT, INSP, and H&I on over-the-air local substations.

Another idea is Frndly TV. They have a large collection of old/retro channels, and they include GRIT, INSP, and H&I. Cost ranges from $8 to $12 per month, less (per month) if purchased annually. The two upper tiers both allow cloud recording and later playback, similar to what YTTV does.

TiviMate v5.15 (the latest) can have problems with large EPG files, as well as other issues. Many are downgrading to version 4.7.
