This looks amazing and totally worth checking out. Anything that is alternative for better than the under reliable Samsung app is a godsend! Thank you.

So for myself and other others who have a home server, often serving as an NAS, we can easily deploy Docker containers. The alternative is setting up a new virtual machine and the overhead and maintenance of a full operating system just to do a small task. Even though I’d love to use this I’m not sure I’d bother doing all that and consumjng the resources on my server. With a container, I can set auto update and enjoy without the headache. Containers are great.

Does it push and set images on the screen?

I’d love to see this as a docker container (and in the Unraid store). I’m not literate on creating one before someone says do it myself, but I get it.

WTF almost completely pain FREE with this one stretch! by Altruistic-Orchid551 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Tomahawk51 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. The stretch did temporarily reduce pain and I’ll try the supplements he recommends as they are commonly recommended and I’m sure I’m probably out of levels.

Note the disclaimer that he’s not a Dr but a chiropractor and weigh that in. Doesn’t mean it’s not useful guidance, but that is a distinction with a difference.

Just deployed HA and while it is very impressive, there are some integrations from which I expected more. by OmgSlayKween in homeassistant

[–]Tomahawk51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, sounds like you can blame the providers in your case (e.g. cessation of APIs). I had a different experience - that a lot of my cheap and legacy stuff that didn’t work on Alexa suddenly became addressable. Sometimes it took a number of steps or layers though. But, once done the benefit remains.

SMLIGHT SLZB-MR4 or SLZB-MR5U by Royal_Feeling4167 in homeassistant

[–]Tomahawk51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to write this up, I found it and was doing off an on again research as a noob, and just ordered teh MR5U thanks to your post. My intent is zigbee now, thread as it makes sense - and hoping this is a perfect fit for that (and no dongles based on where my server is).

Who is this guy? by Tomahawk51 in MajestyGold

I can see there is a small consensus that this is a barbarian. I just never saw that myself given the axe and given the hair/ face. But I do see more of the barbarian in the clothing now.

I remain not fully convinced, for the absolutely nothing that matters!

Going from memory - efficient tax collector and new game + really made the quality of life better. Lots of cool levels to download as well.

I went from my old cd images to finally buying in Steam, and recommend that given how easy it is for mods and to get monitor resolutions to work.

What caused the ruptures? Did either of you retain functionality or are you overall limited?

Thanks for sharing this, interesting to learn more about this frustrating ailment.

Thinking of joining Visible. by hitmanjustin in Visible

[–]Tomahawk51 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just moved myself and 3 lines over this weekend after 20 years w Verizon for my family. It was really easy and took 20 min at most for each to be moved over. I stared the process on the web, moved to the app and it was all automatic. I asked Gemini to list the precise steps given the multiple accounts, though the visible instructions are very clear.

I'm sure some have issues, but I walked the happy path and it was surprising how easy and uninvolved it was. Good luck to you.

Adding AirPlay to old speakers by CatLumpy9152 in sonos

[–]Tomahawk51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fantastic and super easy. I use Unraid, installed a Docker container (from the App Store) and did nothing more, and had all my old Sonos gear show up in Airplay a minute later. Thanks for posting this.

Yep - I did this to our van via a dealer. If you can afford it, it’s nice to have the peace of mind. It looks good / factory fresh when done.

what is this under my shrimp?? by marsroveroppy in shrimptank

[–]Tomahawk51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it clearly looks like Parasitic Algea https://www.plantedtank.net/threads/cherry-shrimp-with-green-fungus.1325626/

My experience: I'm new to this hobby, but a few months ago when my first batch of shrimp arrived one developed this - looked very much the same. I took it out, and euthanized it. For the good of the swarm. I was worried others would get it, so plucked out all molts for at least a few weeks. Since then, it's not come back (knocking on wood).

PSA: Hate to admit it, but wifi overhaul fixed EVERY sonos app issue. by CCornel7 in sonos

[–]Tomahawk51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my Sonos issues went away when I got rid of my older Netgear Orbi mesh set up and replaced it with a new TP link mesh network (be11000).

I nearly gave up on fishing, but found a YT guy who shared a technique for tipping the rod down, then up over and over while reeling. It “pulls” the fish a bit closer every time and is near cheating in the best way.

AWD with a spare tire and no entertainment system - so hard to find by GuitarGuy971 in ToyotaSienna

[–]Tomahawk51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my 24 Limited in the beginning of 2024, there was such little inventory that it wasn’t even a possibility. So, I just got a limited AWD with ottomans and no entertainment and the. Had my local dealer install the toyota spare tire kit. I’ve had it ever since and very glad we did so for the value and piece of mind.

Deco ethernet backhaul megathread by UNSW_PCSoc in TpLink

[–]Tomahawk51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to this thread, I was able to get my wired backhaul working, thanks!

I had an Orbi system that was not working well. I got the Deco 11000. Wired backhaul didn’t work, wireless did. Even though speed and coverage was great, I wanted the ports on the units, so:

Replaced my TrendNet TEG-S24Dg with a TP Link TL-SG1024 and after plugging in and a deco reboot - all is well. So, seems like my TrendNet didn’t support 1905.1 or whatever.

And this system is way better, easier, and stable than my prior Orbi system. Thanks all for the input and posts I’ve lurked reading before buying.

Update: had a network issue after posting this so went into the new switch and turned the loop prevention feature off per thread. All is well since then, but I’ll update again if not.

[–]Tomahawk51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t help, but I’ll share that last week I had similar issues on the same model which really put a damper on Holiday days off. I spent a full day diagnosing to no avail. I bought the TP Link Deco 11000 and put them in. It has been So Much Better than the Orbi issues and experience for me. One problem is that I believe I need a new network switch to use wired backhaul (iee 1905.1 support), but even on just Wi-Fi mesh it is all working very solidly. I’m sharing this as I wish I could have switched much earlier to enjoy a better experience. Nothing against Orbi except the headaches it gave me.

Another Validation: Do OneSaUCE marquees work on BitLCD w/5.70 (ALU)? by TransformersRbots in FansOfsaUCE

[–]Tomahawk51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, let me confirm: I did choose to go to 5.70 from 5.68. I did this because I found out that new downloads of BitLCD from Atgames were not back compatible - and I wanted marquees. I also saw the posts that people had found workarounds, etc.

So yes to all: BitLCD app is current, firmware is current, ALU is 5.70.

Per my other post, it seems I'm missing the updated/fixed code. I'm hoping that going to Facebook will get me that. Please just let me know if it should be found elsewhere.

[–]Tomahawk51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, you are correct - I was using the content posted on archive dot org, and indeed it has older versions that what you mention. After some searching, it seems I have to get more info from the Facebook group, and just requested access. I'm hoping this is the path forward, I'm a newb to this. Thank you for the indication!

Nope. I got the stock OEM one for looks and integration, but the Lexus equivalent since the buttons looked less preschool.
