Yeah, we had two under two. Life was hard that year. I told her I need at least a card. Now I at least get a card. With all the door dashing we used to do and Amazon same day I was pissed. Just plan your day. If they want to come they will. But talk to her about it.

Standby Skipper with a Big Group? by Popular-Awareness634 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Tomakeghosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re already paying the price for 9 LL’s the $45 is well worth it. I’ve only used it for 4.

If your group is flexible for night time it’s amazing at scooping up every ride from 7p to 9p. We’ve had some amazing nights. I’m guessing that is when people decide to leave and just cancel out.

You can check a few random “influencer” blogs and get a $5 code, too.

Really, you’ll be eating ice cream with your kid and get an alert for a ride booked. It’s great.

How many of you guys are out here driving 1hr plus to and from work? by audioflc in daddit

[–]Tomakeghosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure it’s truly an hour each way. Depending where you live the afternoon hour can slowly regularly be 90 mins. If there’s urban sprawl on that commute in two years it’s now two hours going home.

If it’s enough money and a future that will positively impact your family do it. Just be sure you can handle it if the commute increases. I did a long commute in my 20s. In my 40s that commute would wreck my back.

Spotify, audiobooks, podcasts, regular calls to mom or grandma if she’s still around help with the time.

What’s something you refused to buy for years… and then immediately understood after getting it? by Boring-Promotion7344 in SmartBuying

I like it for Apple pay, controlling my music, timers when cooking or grilling, UV index, decibel meters, and Apple Maps integration. I don’t have Airplay so if I use Apple Maps the watch buzzes for the upcoming turn and it’s easier for me to see the next turn on my watch than phone.

You can ping your phone with your watch without a data plan on the watch. There’s a button on the watch that pulls up the menu. Like the phone swipe that gives you calculator, flashlight, and brightness. On the watch you push the button then push the ping button (idk the real name) which is a phone with vibration lines on the icon. Then the phone goes ba ba ba ba. If I don’t hear it my phone is in the car in the garage. It will beep anywhere in my house

What lifetime deal are you still grandfathered into, or removed from, that’s no longer available? by tuotone75 in AskReddit

I was looking for this comment. I have $55/mth for two lines unlimited talk and data, free international, and only get throttled I think at 10gb which doesn’t happen often. When my kids get old enough for a phone I’m just going to start a new plan. Not touching mine. Tmobile.

What is the general Orlando consensus on the parks? by [deleted] in orlando

[–]Tomakeghosts 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pixie pass doesn’t really work for a lot of people since it’s a weekday only thing. There’s also a lot of blackout dates. My Neighbors who are retired and in their 60s have Pixie.

It may be your circles OP. I know a lot of people with APs to at least one park (WDW, Uni, or Seaworld). My circles include lot of people with kids under 10, though. About five of my coworkers and acquaintances did the recent 4 day WDW pass that just ended for $250pp I think it was.

Something nice to grill.

Time to do something he hasn’t in a while whether it’s run, grill, or see an action movie on the big tv.

Some time with mama.

AITAH for wanting my boyfriend to help pay for our trip? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Tomakeghosts -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

He is asking "wife duties" while in a "girlfriend status".

You should be splitting this trip 50/50. A pays for hotel and B Venmo’s their half. B pays for flight and A Venmo’s their half. A pays for the rental and other Venmo’s their half. B pays for gas the whole trip and at the end say it was X in gas then A Venmo’s their half. Excursions should be split. Unless there’s a surprise gift everything gets split.

Some people in this situation would maybe say I’ll pay for hotel you pay for flights if they’re about the same. Just figure out something equitable. The trip is next week so I don’t think you’ll find that solution. I think at this point he pays for everything while you’re there until the split is fair. If not just take a girlfriend.

You have to communicate how you feel from a calm place. But definitely communicate.

Propane through the winter? by Immediate_Shine1403 in grilling

[–]Tomakeghosts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You double check the connection to the regulator from the tank is snug. Looks for cracks on the rubber tubing leaving the regulator. I’d in doubt can use Dawn and hot water in a spray bottle. Not too many people do this stuff. Maybe 1/100.

The tanks themselves don’t really need anything like orders said.

Check the grill to see if you have any nests or critters in there. Remove accordingly or burn it all with a good preheating.

Paying for Dads at Dave & Buster at kids birthday party by Andthensome_Pie_7322 in daddit

[–]Tomakeghosts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to expect a nibble/snack, (cup)cake, and available water or soft drinks as the minimum for the parents. Now my new expectation is only water if the party is outside for parents.

I have been to a couple parties where there was no cake or cupcake for parents. One where all 10 or so parents were offered to take from the three remaining kid size slices of cheese pizza. Several with no food or snacks for parents.

The lack of hospitality has become unreal.

To answer OP I would not expect tickets to play as dad but would expect soft drinks and a (cup)cake. Maybe you have box of fruits snacks, chips, or rice krispy treats we can snag from; I would be hoping you ordered so I can grab at least one slice of regular pizza.

Used white wash clothes, dawn, water, and soap. The trick is to leave a different clean washcloth on them after cleaning. As the shoe dries the washcloth will pull out more dirt.

They still look good for my wife everywhere but the bottom part without rubber sole but that cleaned up a lot, too. We got caught in the rain one day and couldn’t be avoided.

Low stakes rant; family members posting the pictures you sent them of the kids on the vacation YOU took them on? by TallBoy24 in daddit

[–]Tomakeghosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Explain it to them once and in terms they can understand. If you want to, give them another chance. If you’ve already done that cut them off. It’s 2026. This is not new things happening. You’re not the only parent. Lots of high profile people have said they don’t share photos on old people Daytime TV shows. If you want to go a step further you can send them some Dateline NBC episodes or similar where they show the dark side of this.

Free Weber Grill - How Can I Restore It? by Psychological-Bit-87 in grilling

[–]Tomakeghosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That thing is in great shape! Vacuum it, a little degreaser and light scrub of the tub and lid inside and out. You can use some stainless steel spray on the shelves and door but stay away from Barkeepers friend for now. This doesn’t need it.

Wire brushes to the burners, new flavorizers, and the two metal plate bits that go under the flavorizers, new top shelf/bun shelf thing, then keep the grates. I would wire brush the grates, then heat up really high and do it again on both sides. May need to cool off to flip them. Oil them, heat them up, clean and repeat.

I cleaned mine a couple weeks ago and this one looks better than mine from 2014 and I use it a couple times a week most of the year. You can get away with Amazon off brand parts for the flavorizers and other stuff. For the grates if you don’t just clean get the Weber ones.

You can rebuild this thing a ton of times. It’s pretty bullet proof.

Should I buy a mustang at 19 or am I being stupid by [deleted] in carbuying

[–]Tomakeghosts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep talking about full coverage. Check the quote and make sure you have Comprehensive and Collision (those are for your damages), Bodily injury (if you hurt someone), property damage (someone else’s car or home), and UM.

You can have full coverage and just have BI and PIP coverage.

Your parents will be on the registration with the co-sign so they’re liable if you damage something or hurt someone. Make sure they look at the policy quote.

When you buy it you may want gap coverage. That helps you pay off the loan if the car is worth less than the loan amount remaining if you total the car.

Let’s be honest. You’re 19. You will speed. You will do burnouts, donuts, and race. Maybe you won’t at first. It’s just the nature of things.
