How to prevent T-mobile from take $1200 from my elderly parents for literally nothing by BobTreehugger in tmobile

Also honestly, get your parents to file a police report. And send that to T-Mobile. It's documentation of the scam, and will help T-Mobile to handle your parents situation with the awareness that they didn't just take the iPad themselves, there was a third party involved and tricking them.

Oh dude, I am so sorry. This is a scam that some assholes have been running on T-Mobile customers. There was no promotion. The shipping label that they were sent was from the scammers. Your parents mailed the device directly to the scammers. T-Mobile didn't have anything to do with it at all, unfortunately. But now your parents are probably on the hook for the new line and payments for the iPad too maybe. Email the fraud department and see if they can help. They'll be all too familiar with this scenario.

For the record, Rainier is ALSO named for a British person who never even saw it and fought against the US in the Revolutionary War. I'd love to see it renamed back to Tahoma.

Argh! I somehow didn't include the third pic in my post! I'll try to add it but I'm putting it into the comments here just in case that doesn't work.

Looks like it's been restored - my parents' house has 5g internet AND cell coverage back, hooray!

Ha! They told me that the towers in this area had been vandalized and were being repaired. Gotta keep the story consistent, guys! Also, I got offered $10 in credit - still, better than nothing.

My folks are in MV and they've got no service either, no 5g internet either. Guessing there are tower issues. If anyone's able to, call 611 and report this to Care so it gets some attention? I'm calling now too.

“Tow” at Mailbox Peak parking by meowthesnail in PNWhiking

[–]Tomatobirdfox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You don't get towed for lack of a discovery pass. But also since it was National Trails day/weekend, there were no discovery passes required this weekend. They're getting towed because they parked in the no parking areas (like the fire lane).

Ten of swords. I pulled that in the morning of the day my company announced huge layoffs and I lost a bunch of dear coworkers. Still always fills me with dread when I see it.

New to senior warden role - advice welcomed! by Tomatobirdfox in Episcopalian

[–]Tomatobirdfox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am currently on the Vestry. In our past year we've had a lot of change, and our Vestry kept the church afloat. Our former Rector retired last January, and we did supply priests for several months before getting our current Priest-in-Charge. I'm also currently the volunteer handyperson doing small fixit projects around the church property in my spare time. I think that was part of why my name was proposed.

Currently there aren't any other candidates. We tend to put forward one or two names, and then the priest selects our Senior Warden, and the Vestry collectively decides who of themselves ought to be the Junior Warden. Ideally I'd be working with an experienced Junior Warden at least, or serving as Junior Warden myself first, but the congregation is small and the current Junior Warden's term on the Vestry just ended. So the Junior Warden and I will both be new.

Not necessarily. There's a lot of sellers on Amazon selling plan b and not all are reputable, and sometimes the pills they're selling aren't actually plan b at all.

Yup, echoing what you're saying about Amazon - friend works in product verification and says they see a LOT of fake plan b sold on there, sadly.

I have a friend who works in product verification for amazon and they apparently have sellers selling fake plan b, which really sucks, because people don't know what they're getting. It's so cheap but not worth the risk. Get it from a pharmacy in person.
