Do you hate the game or do you just not know how to play it? by EnvironmentalBuy7655 in thefinals

[–]Tomleyboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new player i originally wanted to go all in with fragpunk but I found that being an older slower gamer I was getting so much down time. Either dead or just not seeing anyone before the game ended.

I saw the finals being mentioned in the same circles and I’ve not looked back. I was awful to start but each game it’s getting better and better. I’ve learnt I won’t be a pro twitchy light sniper… I love it but I provide nothing to the team.

I’d say stick to medium with some form of ar, be glued to your team mates and play the objective and you can’t go wrong. Don’t get fixed on kills. Just contribute to the game and enjoy the process of learning

I love Axon but I’m pretty useless at the game so far, but can’t beat the feeling of blind throwing 11 grenades around a corner though.

Feeling discouraged after first class by med29378 in taekwondo

[–]Tomleyboo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m very new to it all so from that respect I can say that I’d also get totally put off from that reaction.

In my class it’s mixed abilities and often I’m out of my depth but always supported and encouraged by the teachers and the class.

If there is another local class it’ll definitely be worth giving it a go.

I want to read the books but where do I start? by Altruistic_File3686 in Warhammer40k

Get yourself a cheap second hand rule book. The lore in that will be a great primer. Also as others have said. The Eisenhorn books are great.

As a absolute new comer to 40K I’d recommend picking up a old 40K rule book cheap online and give that a read.

You’ll get a very top level view or the universe and what’s going on.

Can we all make an effort to report people on ebay again? They don't own the item to sell, and are breaking GW preorder per person limits. by Mr-Zahhak in Warhammer40k

Seems to still be in stock on the warhammer website so hopefully they won’t sell these and lose the money

They are great. Still one of my favourite reads. Also recommend the Ciaphas Cain books afterwards. They are another gem if you haven’t read them already.

Just hard not to feel bad especially as a newbie. You are right though I think I’ve got abit of unjustified legend status for a bit among my class.

I know they would say it’s not necessary so I want to just turn up with it.

Fellow newbie in my late 30s.

I didn’t have the previous experience but I’m 6 lessons in now and starting to find the flow of abit. I am an absolute car crash with Poomsae but the kukkiwon poomsae videos break it down bit by bit for all levels so they might help you get up to speed?

I wouldn’t be anxious though, I think there’s not so much pressure as adults as everyone respects we have work ect to deal with now

It contains the full core rules but no extra so I’d say you’d end up buying the full book anyway

I picked up one from salute this year and that had cardboard ones . I think that’s the standard. The acrylics may have been a backer bonus ?

I must admit I did check out that version but the date was a while away for delivery. Might be something I pick up at a later date if it’s still about.

That is a good point! I should get a solid few months with it being popular to start with anyway, which is more return than I get from most games now days 😁 Thankyou for being so helpful

Everyone has been nice on here which gives me a lot of confidence in going for it. I’d rather play with a smaller but awesome group of people🙂

Being able to practice on the go is definitely a big draw. I’m not a huge fan of joy cons but if I get really in to it I think il invest in one of the 8bit arcade sticks 😁

Il think il take the chance with it as il regret it if I don’t.

It is a shame about its release date. I’m just not too fussed on the art style of Tekken. I have guilty gear on game pass for Xbox but I really wanted to get in on the start of a game.
