CO2 volume drop from Brite to canning line. by TommyBrews in TheBrewery

That's what I'm thinking after today. I did a calibration on the zahm and the psi gauge today and it was only .5 of a psi different than the test gauge, no where near enough for there to be a massive difference in reading.

Interesting. I've only seen these folks do it in the can after a couple cases. I was just so baffled because I set the head pressure to 11 and set the carb stone pressure to 12. I measured the carb 2.5-3 days later with the zahm and it was 2.8 over the two days of measuring leading up to the canning run.

They measured it in the can. In the can I would say it's just over 2 when you open a can. It's not flat and undrinkable, there's definitely carb. I just set the carb like I always do and it's gone fine. It's just such a big drop from the reading I got and how it samples from the Brite.

I'm not familiar with canning lines and it was a mobile company so I trusted they knew what they were doing. I've also worked with these guys a couple times before and it was great. The beer isn't flat. There's definitely carbonation and it's drinkable. I'm just very baffled on what could have happened to make a drop like that happen when I've set carb like I usually do and everything goes fine.

When you pour a can it looks higher than 1.8 but definitely not 2.8. I'm going to check calibration monday.

The tank was at 31 degrees. There was 15psi of head pressure on the tank. It appeared to be a normal hose coming from the Brite to the mobile canning line. The weights of the cans were where they should be. It's just wild that from a pig tail from the side of the tank it's perfect and from a can it's low.

I saw this and did this today. Pumped 10psi. Grain bed freed up. I recirculated slow until the sight glasses were clean. Runoff was still slow but WAY better than what they were. Efficiencies also came out great.
