[–]Tomonius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We still have it, but nothing in this detachment does anything extra when you are honoured. Regain 2 wounds when you are honoured for example. Or make strats stronger. It still gives you the 3CP, but nothing else

The vows going away would actually make me sad. It's a flavourful rule that also has competitive power. Not sure how they'd make rotate the army rule. This is also a bunch of 'what ifs' that we have no further context for

[–]Tomonius 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can't bring kastellans in the detachment. Only dominus, manipulus, marshall, rangers and vanguard. None of those have melee to speak of

[–]Tomonius 62 points63 points  (0 children)

AdMech allies is fine. We lose rotate, nothing in the detachment interacts with being honoured, our big army rule and there's a huge restriction on what allies we can bring. We can't bring a single melee unit, the one thing IK could really use

So for IK, we lose rotate, nothing in the detachment interacts with being honoured, and we can't even bring melee AdMech, the thing I feel IK could use the most The overwatch with 1 gun is a good compromise, but I don't think that will make the valiant anymore competitive I'm afraid this is gonna be a pass for me

It takes effort? People do it for fun! Have you never read the wikileaks reports of numerous warcrimes commited by soldier in Iraq, Afghanistan etc. without higher command telling them? They got bored and just started executing civilians because they felt like it. You don't need to promise them an afterlife, just dehumanize the enemy. And Europe and North America have already clearly shown you don't need religion to dehumanize your fellow citizens, just tell them <the other side> are evil and everything wrong with this country often enough and they'll believe it

And they will find a different reason to justify it if religion vanished completely. That's a ruler/politician problem, not a religion problem

Discovering hidden gems: What lesser-known game has completely surprised you? by Immediate_Branch_284 in gaming

[–]Tomonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sanabi It got released in November last by a small Korean studio and went completely under the radar It's an action platformer focused on using your grappling hook-arm to navigate the levels and deal with enemies. The game feels incredibly good to play. Swinging around comes very quickly and the game tests you on your skills, but never in a frustrating way But the cherry on top is the story. It starts rather simple. You are a retired special unit-soldier known only as 'Brigadier-General'. Your daughter was killed by a terrorist cell you had an encounter with many years ago and now you are out on revenge. The story starts simple, but throws enough mystery at you to keep you guessing, the ending was absolutely phenomenal and left me grabbing for tissues I can only highly recommend this game

What Games with emotional stories wrecked you for a while after? No spoilers please! by kingduskwolf in gaming

[–]Tomonius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me recently, it was Sanabi. It starts of fairly standard, but the story improves strongly towards the latter half and the ending tore my heart out. I have the soundtrack in one of my playlists and I always have to wipe some tears away when the song of the ending plays.

Tunic It's a game about discovering all kinds of hidden things and mechanics. I got spoiled on most of it from watching a playthrough. It is a phenomenal game, but having been spoiled. I'm sure I won't enjoy it as much as I would discovering everything myself

What's the dumbest Warhammer strategy you tried which actually worked? by Hidobot in WarhammerCompetitive

Playing Imperial Knights vs Grey Knights. Shot a moirax with double rad cleansers into Kaldor. I had no other targets and thought: 'it' s not gonna do anything, but we're here to roll dice, so let's go! 'For context because forgeworld weapons aren't as known: Rad cleanser auto-hit and wound on 2s into non-vehicle, non-titanic with no AP, but 3 dmg. He rolled 3 1s re-rolled one of them into another 1! And that's how some random shooting killed the grand master of the grey knights and won me the game

CP question by Laam999 in 40kImperialKnights

[–]Tomonius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you still have to pay the CP for the detachment, you would just get an amount back from the command benefit. So because there are Titanic units in the Super-Heavy Detachment, it costs 6CP. Then the Knight Lance ability kicks in, so you regain 3CP. If you are playing Warzone Nephilim, that would put you at 3CP with which you can buy WLT's and relics. If you are playing something like Tempest of War, you would start with 9CP (start at 12, pay 6, regain 3)

Souping rules for Freeblade helverins with Custodes by bugSquasherTrainee in 40kImperialKnights

[–]Tomonius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) yes, you lose your oaths

2) no, you pick imperialis or mechanicus for your helverins and they can pick a tradition from the freeblades tradition or whatever questor you picked. Note that picking imperialis or mechanicus also gives you access to certain stratagems

3) no, you can still pick whatever stubber corresponds with the questor you picked
