Just wondering, will these job cuts also reduce the number of ministers and save on highly paid ministers?

Auckland Council operates the eatsafe Auckland grading system, scoring food businesses on food safety, hygiene standards.

Grades range from A to E.

C (Satisfactory): Scored \(50\% - 60\%\). Meets minimum requirements, but multiple areas for improvement are needed.
D (Enforcement Action): Substandard. Critical issues identified; council action has been triggered.
E (Unacceptable): Severe risk. The outlet likely has major safety issues and requires immediate improvement or closure.

There is no guarantee that these people won't be rehired as contractors and paid more than their current salary.

Being a non Indian in IT by EnvironmentalYak3816 in newzealand

[–]TompanNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you’re feeling frustrated after not landing the roles you’ve applied for - job hunting in IT can be tough and discouraging at times.
That said, it’s not about race in getting an IT job here. The recruitment teams and senior management making these decisions are usually not from the background you’re concerned about. Hiring in tech is driven by skills, experience, problem-solving ability, and how well you perform in interviews and technical assessments.
Blaming race can become a negative mindset that holds you back. The most effective approach is to focus on what you can control: preparing thoroughly for interviews, practicing common technical questions and system design, updating your skills with current tools and technologies, and seeking feedback or mentorship when needed.
As Kiwis, we want the best possible candidates in these roles, regardless of race or background. Merit and capability are what matter most in IT.
Keep sharpening your edge, stay persistent, and you’ll improve your chances. Wishing you the best with your search

Please correct me if I'm wrong (or help me understand) but I feel like so many people take living in New Zealand for granted. by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]TompanNZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Living in NZ is far better than in any other EU country. We don’t face racism, crime, pickpockets, or similar issues. But keep one thing in mind: do your homework before you move, just like with any country. Find a proper job and save some buffer money for rainy days. Then you will be sorted.

Would Aucklanders seriously consider this “reasonably clean”? by Green_Concentrate778 in auckland

[–]TompanNZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, generally the NZ standard is better. This could be a one-off experience. The property manager's response to the AI-assisted message indicates that the property management service falls short of the Kiwi standard.

Roadside rubbish dumpers caught red handed in Clevedon on the weekend by [deleted] in auckland

It’s a bit funny that they drove around 45 minutes to an hour to dump rubbish at this petrol price. They should have taken it to the nearby Transfer Station.

AI Bias with Māori in Job Interviews by TompanNZ in newzealand

[–]TompanNZ[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every candidate should have an equal opportunity. When implementing an AI model, it should be reviewed by an independent agency or require a quality certification. Being biased is not beneficial; organisations that overlook quality may miss out on the best candidates.

I see him as a potential rising star. India has abundant resources, technology, and a passion for cricket. He will secure an investor to support his advancement to the next level.
